We had the good fortune of connecting with DJDADON and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJDADON, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
You must take risk to elevate in life. Whenever life makes you feel uncomfortable growth is inevitable. You can take the risk or fold. Risk have played a huge part in my life and career. Specifically in my career taking the chance to relocate from Miami to Chicago was a major risk. It was a foreign city to me where many people do not make it. Luckily, I have been able to turn that one risk into a multitude of avenues majority dealing with music.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am different from others because I am able to combine what I learned in the streets of Miami into my everyday music affairs while still staying true to myself. I am proud of my ever-evolving music style. I’ve been in the game almost 15 years and have been able to keep up and stay on top even with new producers coming in the game. Professionally I am here from hard work and making connections. There were a lot of challenges that came my way on my journey in the music industry. I overcame these obstacles by always keeping in mind that I must stay true to myself and my goals. A huge lesson that I believe everyone in the music industry eventually learns is that people are not always who they claim to be. You must take time to get to know people and build relationships, whether its business or friendship. Eventually people show their true selves. You just have to act accordingly once they reveal themselves. I want the world to know that I am a genuine and authentic person what you see is what you get. I am the same person on and offline.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend of mine came into town, we would start our Sunday off at Club Liv in South Beach, FL. It’s one of the most popping clubs for the most notable people in the Sports world and Entertainment. After that on Wednesday, we would go to Ghost bar located in the Hardrock Casino in Davie, FL. They have an abundance of authentic Miami cuisine to choose from. For food on a chill day, I would bring them to Finga licking- aka The Licking. They have bomb soul food that feels like your grandma made it. I would also bring my friend jet-skiing in the bayside area, before hitting up The Office a prominent Gentleman’s club on 183rd ST in Miami. We would finish up our week on a chill vibe at Las Olas Blvd. there are a multitude of restaurants, shops, and entertainment down the strip to choose from.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my mom. Ever since I was young, she always taught me to stand on business. She really instilled the hustler mentality that I have in me. I watched her get through everything and not so much as even complain or say she was ever tired.
