We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Ferguson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcus, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
In my life currently I am sacrificing a lot of my free time & physical health to be able to fund my music career. There are 24 hours in a day I can confidently say I work 15 hours & sleep when I can Sunday to Sunday, no days off. Many people in my life tell me it is unhealthy and I often look tired. However I don’t care. That’s the risk. I sacrifice going out and free time to constantly be making money to fund my music career. All this work has to pay off for something right?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most excited to put out my next album titled “Can’t Call It” it’s very sentimental, and I think it can help a lot of people battle their inner insecurities. I got where I am today by just staying passionate in music, it’s great to have hundreds of fans and the challenge is still to expand! The drive to expand keeps me going! I’ve overcome alot of challenges but the mane one is feeling pressured to “make it” in music.. I now realize I have to enjoy every moment & process on my music journey whether its a struggling process or a successful one. I want people to know I was really out here to better lives of others by expressing my character.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A new place I really enjoy going is Hermosa Beach in California. A friend I met when I moved to California took me there and it’s everything in one. A place to clear my head when I can look at the water on the beach. Restaurants on the beach if I get hungry, and by night the social scene can get lit if I’m in a turn up mood.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family (mom, dad, brother, grandparents) deserve all the recognition. Without there support & what they have given me I am nothing. From my dad’s work ethic, wisdom to my mom’s nurturing support, to my brother’s producing skills I’ve learned from them which has molded into a better me.
