We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ ReRe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DJ ReRe, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to provide other opportunities for people, not just me. I wanted to be more serious and reach a different clientele. I wanted potential clients to see the company as trustworthy. When people are looking for event talent and production I want them to think of REmixed Events and not just DJ ReRe.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an International, Celebrity DJ located in Miami Florida born and raised in Omaha Nebraska. I moved to Miami for more opportunities in the field of music. I moved here by myself with no help, no direction but a goal. I am a hard worker, I also get along with pretty much everybody and I don’t have an ego which is rare in this field in Miami. I am a very humble person who just likes to have fun and that resonates in my sets and every time that you meet me. I make sure that everybody is having a good time I always have a smile on my face. I always make sure to give everybody the respect that they deserve. What sets me apart from any other DJ/MC is that besides the fact that I’m a black woman, I have a bubbly personality and I very relatable. People are drawn to me because of the vibes. I am very professional and I am very trustworthy. I am known for having my energetic personality that spews over to my work and on the microphone, I’m more than just a DJ, I’m an artist I do not just play music, I create a Vibe, I tell a story and I take you on an emotional on a roller coaster ride.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a humongous foodie so we are for sure hitting up all my favorite spots to eat starting with some local restaurants that I love like Moshi Moshi, and we’re definitely going to Big Pink on South Beach and Finger Lickin, and for sure Pollo Tropical. For food that’s just the tip of the iceberg, but as far as sightseeing; for sure the beach I love to go to the beach and I love to go bike riding so on the beach there’s a really nice bike trail to go on so we’re doing that. I am a big fan of finding Little Gems to hang out at, Wynwood is definitely the spot and the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk is my favorite. I’m also a big fan of Fort Lauderdale beach is well. I love going out into the clubs once they reopen one of my favorite clubs to go to is exchange nightclub Nikki Beach is very nice as well since he does have really good wings. And for sure we are going to both Sawgrass Mills and Dolphin Mall. And that would be after we go to the Everglades because I think a lot of people Overlook nature and all that Miami has to offer in regards to Natural sightseeing. It’s beautiful and lastly, we are for sure going to go on the boat parties.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to Shout out the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, INC., City of Hollywood, Love/Hate Miami, 4Mankind TV, Kino, Toons, Tommie. All of those that gave me an opportunity and REALLY believed in me and wanted me to excel.
