We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Brooke Desser, DC and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Brooke, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It was a big leap of faith. I knew this is what I had wanted and prayed for, but I did a lot of second guessing when it was coming close to opening. I had desired for our business to be welcoming, caring, and feeling like you are a part of our family here. We wanted everyone to know they would all be cared for with the same level of treatment across the board. We built our business around both of our family dynamics as well, which is huge. We both have small children and some in school, so it’s important for us as moms to not miss out on anything while they are still young, so we made our schedule work around what was best for that. I wasn’t sure that people would find me again from the clients that I had previously built. I wondered if I was still relevant and recommended. It turned out to be better than I could have anticipated. Not only were people looking for me, but I was being recommended and referred to from all over and we had a great amount of business since the moment of opening our doors.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I pride myself on treating each patient with the same care and respect I would have for my own family. I aim to get to the bottom of any concern and work on getting them feeling their best. I am a small practice and treat each patient one on one, so I am able to dedicate a good amount of time to each patient, addressing most if not all of their needs for their visit. Being in a local community full of wonderful practitioners, I thought it might be challenging to build a name for myself, but I was proven wrong! We are grateful to be fully booked consistently each week. I have worked very hard to build and maintain relationships professionally within our community and love having such a vast database of practitioners to refer to.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Luckily in Palm Beach County, there are so many great spots to venture to. You can’t go wrong with getting something from Carmela Coffee Company. Their food and coffee are absolutely amazing. I would also recommend Royal Palm Brewing Company for a locally owned brewery. Grandview Public Market is a cool spot to hit up as well, with something that everybody would enjoy. There are a lot of cute boutique stores from boca, wellington and up to west palm that you could go shopping at. Maybe spend the day at the beach, too. The options are endless.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am so thankful for the community around me every step of the way. I wouldn’t be where I am at without my previous work experience in a very busy clinic. The opportunity I had is what helped me make a name for myself in the community and build great relationships and a referral base between clients and practitioners. My family is and will always be a number one support system, without the help from them with my children and my business I wouldn’t be able to practice this way. And for my business partner, Kelsey who helped get this running from the ground up once I had the idea and has been crucial to the success of our business.
