We had the good fortune of connecting with Dracula X and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dracula, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I very first started, I was very nervous. I didn’t know to much about starting a business. I didn’t know (still learning) how to budget and save for my business. The beginning was very stressful But I knew I had to start from somewhere. The business was very very slow because my name wasn’t known at the time. So, it’ll always be frustrating to me, Like, “how come I can’t get any clientele?” To answer that question, I ended up doing a lot of free shoots and from there people started to see my work and started to inquire about my services.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m most proud of how far I’ve gotten with being in the photography business. It really means a lot to only be in the game for 1 year and a couple of months at 21 years old means everything to me. It wasn’t easy, nothing is easy. When people, things or obstacles come around and throws you off don’t dwell on it, try your best to make the situation better and move forward. One of the lessons I’ve learned, when you build a team, make sure everyone on your team has great chemistry. Are you gonna have disagreements? Yes. But you all have to figure out the absolute best way to move forward and keep climbing up to the top. Nothing will come to you, you have to go get what you want. And you gonna have to work hard to where you want to get. In this society now a days, it’s about what you know and it’s about who you know. Sometimes someone who you know can get you somewhere you want to be quicker than you being in school. I was waiting for the right time to put this out but I’ll do this now, after the next 2 years or so I will not be doing photography anymore. My actual dream is to become a movie director and I will be come one, one day. I just hope the support will stay the same that I move into another direction.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to wynwood there’s a lot of art there.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
