Meet Ed Cavaglieri | Realtor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ed Cavaglieri and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ed, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk-taking has been the foundation of every major success in my career. Each transition required leaving comfort zones, but I’ve learned to take calculated risks based on thorough preparation. While having a very successful career in residential lending in Orange County , CA, my family and I decided to move to Argentina. Leaving California after 30 years to become sales director in Argentina’s luxury market was a significant risk. I was betting that my deep understanding of U.S. financing, combined with cultural connections, would create unique value. The risk was leaving established relationships and income. The reward was leading a luxury division and gaining international market perspective that most realtors never experience. Because of Covid I decided to return to the U.S. but this time to Naples Fl. Coming to Naples five years ago meant starting over again – but this time I understood it was a strategic risk. I’d analyzed Naples’ growth patterns, luxury market dynamics, and saw similarities to markets where I’d succeeded. At my career stage, many peers play it safe. I chose to leverage my unique combination of many years in finance, international luxury experience, and cultural adaptability. I view risk as the price of growth. But I never risk blindly – I risk strategically. Whether it was moving countries or advising clients on million-dollar purchases, I prepare extensively, understand worst-case scenarios, and ensure I have the skills and resources to succeed.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a deep passion for understanding real estate from every angle – the financial side, the emotional side, the market dynamics – gave me the confidence to take some bold steps in my career. When you truly love what you do, calculated risks don’t feel scary; they feel like natural next steps in pursuing your passion.
Real estate has been my life’s work, and after all these years, I still get genuinely excited about helping people navigate one of the most important decisions they’ll ever make. Was it easy? Absolutely not. Each transition meant starting over – new regulations, new networks, new market dynamics. In Argentina, I had to prove that my U.S. experience translated to luxury international sales. In Naples, I arrived knowing nobody, competing against established agents with decades of local relationships.
I overcame these challenges through what I call “strategic immersion.” I didn’t just learn markets superficially – I studied neighborhood histories, development patterns, buyer psychology. I built relationships by providing value first, sharing my unique financial and international insights before asking for business. Most importantly, I viewed each challenge as market research, understanding that my outsider perspective could become my competitive advantage.
First, expertise transfers across markets and industries more than most people realize. My lending background didn’t become irrelevant when I moved to sales – it became my differentiator. Second, calculated risks compound over time. Each career move built upon previous experiences, creating a skill set that no single-market agent could replicate. Success requires constant learning. What got me here won’t necessarily get me to the next level. My brand represents sophisticated real estate counsel backed by unmatched financial and international experience. When clients work with me, they’re not just getting a local realtor – they’re accessing many years of financial market expertise, international luxury sales leadership, and the perspective that comes from succeeding in multiple markets.
I want people to know that real estate is ultimately about understanding risk and opportunity, and I’ve spent my entire career mastering both. Whether you’re a first-time buyer or an international investor, I bring a level of financial sophistication and global perspective that can protect your interests and maximize your opportunities.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit, I’d show them why Naples consistently ranks as one of America’s most desirable places to live
Day 1 – We’d start with breakfast at First Watch, then head straight to 5th Avenue South for shopping and people-watching. Lunch at Milano for authentic Italian, then we’d stroll down to Naples beach
Day 2 – Beach Bliss
Vanderbilt Beach in the morning – it’s my favorite for the soft sand and clear water. We’d grab lunch at The Turtle Club right on the beach, then spend the afternoon at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park for some of the most pristine shoreline you’ll ever see. Evening cocktails at The Ritz-Carlton’s beach bar watching another spectacular Gulf sunset.
Day 3 – Culture and Fine Dining
Start at Naples Botanical Garden – absolutely stunning. Shopping at Waterside Shops for high-end retail therapy, then an early dinner at Trattoria. If it’s season, we’d catch a show at Arts-Naples for world-class performances.
Day 4 – Adventure Day
Everglades tour in the morning – the wildlife is incredible and it’s right in our backyard. Explore the Naples Historic District. Dinner at Ocean Prime for the best seafood in town,
Day 5 – Luxury Living
3rd Street South shopping and gallery hopping – it’s more intimate than 5th Avenue with incredible art. Lunch at Campiello, then we’d tour some of Naples’ most beautiful neighborhoods like Port Royal and Aqualane Shores (my favorite part of the job!). Sunset dinner at The Bay House for waterfront dining.
Day 6 – Island Escape
Day trip to Marco Island – beautiful beaches and a different vibe. Dinner at Bleu Provence for French cuisine that rivals anything you’d find in Paris.
Day 7 -Farmers Market on Saturday morning at Fleischmann Park, then brunch at Jane’s Café. Final shopping at Mercato – great mix of shops and restaurants. We’d end with dinner at Grill 401 and cocktails at their rooftop bar, toasting an amazing week while overlooking the twinkling lights of Naples.
What makes Naples special isn’t just the pristine beaches or world-class dining – it’s how everything comes together.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Any success that I’ve had I owe it to my many mentors who believed in my hard work and and my passion to succeed. The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is you can’t do it alone. You need good people around you. My wife Marcela has been instrumental in my life. Her encouragement throughout the years has given me the confidence that you can accomplish anything you desire.
