We had the good fortune of connecting with Edward and Alicia Boateng and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Edward and Alicia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When we started Team Boateng Real Estate, we wanted the ability to have unlimited income while tapping into our former backgrounds. Edward comes from a Commercial insurance background with over 20+ years of experience and Alicia comes from a Wedding and Event Planning background with also over 20+ years of experience. Together, our backgrounds were a perfect segway into Real Estate.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets us apart is that we are a husband and wife team. When working with our clients, we require a loyalty agreement and we have questionnaires that help us narrow down and identify how to help our clients achieve their goals. It’s one of the hardest things to do, however, we do it well, which is, we listen to our client’s wants and needs which in turn creates a better experience for everyone. We host Red Carpet Open houses which is our signature trait. We want potential buyers to experience and feel the showcasing of a great property that they may have the opportunity of owning. We are very excited when we are given the opportunity to help a person buy or sell a home. Continuously hitting our goals of homeownership for our clients is what we are most proud of, closing day! We are truly impacting lives in a very progressive manner. We got to this point in our business by being relentless. Being relentless is a state of mind that can give you the strength to achieve, to survive, to overcome, to be strong when others are not, that means craving the end results to intensely that work becomes irrelevant. Not just in sports but in everything you do. Some of the lessons we’ve learned on this journey have been having a solution to the issues that come up and making sure that we maintain great communication. When people don’t know the section of the process we are in or are left in the dark, if they are not told, they start making up their own story. This comes with a lack of communication. What we want people to know is that whether you are looking to buy, sell or invest in a home, Team Boateng will help you achieve your goal.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would give them the experience of vising the beaches, both South Beach and Fort Lauderdale Beach. We also love Naples so we would slip in a day trip to Florida’s West Coast. Orlando would take over two days of the week-long trip including a dinner at our favorite spot, Del Friscos Double Eagle steakhouse. South Beach has beautiful views and the food spots are magnificent. Our favorite spot that offers both a great view and food is Smith & Wollensky, located in South Pointe Park. While down in Miami, we would take them to the famous Cuban Restaurant, Versailles for a little cafecito and their outstanding croquetas. Fort Lauderdale Beach and its Intracoastal waterways are great for Brunch at Blue Moon Fish company. You can enjoy a fabulous brunch while admiring the amazing boats passing by. While in Naples we would make a pit stop at the historic downtown area, have dinner at the Ritz Carlton Beach Resort while enjoying the fabulous sunsets on Florida’s West Coast. Orlando is a must! They have various theme parks, including Disney World, world-class dining, and the pre-construction boom is rapidly growing. So, when our friend is considering moving, Orlando is one of the many options we can offer them. In closing their trip as we bid them a farewell and see you soon, Sunny South Florida will always be remembered and at the top of their list.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our Family. We are a family of 6 and balancing a company. That balance is very difficult to stay consistent on. We are thankful to our children, Kaleb, Andy, and Macy for helping us with passing out flyers, assisting us with open houses, and just the everyday duties this career entails. We are thankful for Mercy (mother-in-law), Edward’s mom for helping us with our little one, Kingston. We also thank John Dietz, our team lead and productivity coach from Keller Williams Realty Coral Springs, for keeping our feet to the fire, pushing us to do better, work smarter, and understand that if it is not a win-win on both sides, there is no deal. We are thankful for our Transaction Coordinator, Jasmin Arrieta, and the rest of our team who make our experiences for our clients achievable and run smoothly.
