We had the good fortune of connecting with Emilio Warwar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emilio, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
First of all, to me it really isn’t work when you do what you love. As for Balance, it is something there will always need to be a bit of in any aspect, not only with work. It is why I do remind myself to drop the camera for a while and allow myself to soak in some moments from time to time and enjoy.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Nothing makes me happier than getting my camera and going to take some photos but lately it has been about seeing my work printed. I have been printing for 5 years now and it all started with a print I sent for my room. It brought color to the room and was just beautiful! From that moment on friends and family would visit & ask where they can get one.  After that I began to sell my work, starting with a law firm I was working at during that time & some of my fathers moving clients. It was all trial & error, finding the best quality companies to work with while keeping costs down in order to make my art affordable for everyone. With years of hard work and dedication my online store opened up last year & it makes me happy to see customers enjoy my work printed and hanging in their homes and offices!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Where do I begin? Miami has so much to offer! I would probably start with some brunch on Miami Beach. After a few mimosas take a walk to the beach and enjoy some fun in the sun, & maybe even kayak or jetski around for a bit. After that, we head home to shower, then grab some cuban lunch at Sergios. After lunch maybe grab some scooters at bayside area and have fun while we wait for night time to arrive. As night approaches we go to wynwood for some dancing, drinks and bar hoping. Last but not least it will probably be late and time to sober up so we go to Dennys or Los Perros to munch out!    Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
From as early as I can remember I have always loved photography. I think it all started because my mom always had a camera around taking pictures and recording my sister & I growing up to keep beautiful memories. I remember my Aunt who is another person I owe so much to was the first to buy me a camera for my birthday in 6th grade so that I could take on my trips with my parents while also be able to get memories in and out of school with friends. It wasn’t till I met one of my best friends in high school who saw my passion for photography and introduced me to the world of DSLR by passing down one of his cameras for me to begin with. After a few years of shooting with him & 3 other great photographers who were childhood friends of mine; I gained the proper experience I needed to begin my photography company in which little by little friends and family began to use my photography services which is what helped build my company. This last year has been a very busy one, and I am also very fortunate that my girlfriend helps me with some of the work. Last but not least a thank you to my good friend Andres at Salsa Kings and his team of amazing dancers for 2 amazing years of working together and creating amazing content for all. In the end I probably would not be where I am today without having these wonderful, amazing people in my life. Thanks again!
