We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Filson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eric, why did you pursue a creative career?
To inspire others with my work.
Whether that inspiration leads them to pursue their own artistic endeavors, business ideas, or uplifts their mood I just want people to feel moved and want to be better when taking in my artwork.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m actually still developing a signature style for myself but I’d say I tend to focus on strong contrasting colors against solid backgrounds with little to no filters.
The fact that I’m still learning and growing as an artist/professional is something I’m extremely proud and excited about because I have the world ahead of me. It’s that same mindset that got me started as a photographer.
I’ve definitely met my own fair share of challenges, but never one I couldn’t overcome. Persistence and an open mind are key. You might not get every single opportunity you want, but life has a way of putting you where you need to be if you believe in yourself.
I’d want the world to know that my journey is going to be one of the greatest origin stories of all time.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When it comes to going out, Im mood dependent so that can vary.
At some point we’d definitely club hop in Wynwood to be around the party scene.
I love the beach, especially Hallouver whenever a day of relaxing on the sand is needed.
Depending on the time of year, we’d definitely go to a Heat, Marlins or Dolphins game.
And there’s never nothing wrong with staying in with food and drinks.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom definitely motivates me to go after the things I want in life and to never doubt myself.
