Meet Evgeny Kostenko

We had the good fortune of connecting with Evgeny Kostenko and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Evgeny, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe that risk is the main driver of emotion and progress. Without taking risks, there’s no real growth or breakthrough. Just like the old saying goes: ‘No guts, no glory.’ Or in my culture, we say, ‘He who doesn’t take risks, doesn’t drink champagne.’
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
You know, there’s definitely a story to tell here, because the path to earning a position at one of the top companies in the car audio industry has been anything but ordinary. It all started back in 2016, when I decided to build my very first project and dedicate my life to car audio. At the time, I was working as a truck driver, traveling all across the U.S. with only one weekend off per month — and I spent that weekend in the garage, building my project, believing in its success, and then heading back out on the road.
When the project was finally finished, I found myself still drawn to learning more, spending every spare moment back in that same garage, diving deeper into the world of car audio. Later, I tried to launch my own business in the automotive industry — which, like many first ventures, ended in bankruptcy. I went back to trucking, but I never gave up. I kept searching for opportunities, refusing to let setbacks define me.
Then one weekend — once again in the garage — I received a job offer. And honestly, it felt like fate had finally found me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, I’m definitely not an expert when it comes to relaxing, but a day by the ocean — that’s truly something powerful.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course, the main support in my project — and in life overall — comes from my better half, Irina. My wife has always believed in me and stood by every idea I’ve pursued. When it comes to building this project and gaining unique knowledge along the way, I’ve also been incredibly lucky to have the support of my boss, Vladimir. His trust and encouragement, even through the toughest moments, have meant a lot and truly helped shape this journey.
