Meet Flor Godward | Visual Artist and Event Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Flor Godward and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Flor, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Being an artist and an event designer is an exciting journey that requires creativity as the main inspirational force.
I have a deep love for visual storytelling, beauty and composition.
I love people to feel joy, wonder, happiness, to feel an experience, through my art and my events.
Art and events need to be curated. To have a balance of color , texture, light and story. All aligned.
It’s a challenging passion that I love to do every day .

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art es an expression of my soul. I work with the sacrality of childhood. The experiences that we live in that period of our life live a foot print that will influence our adult self. Being an artist is a challenging field. But in my case, I couldn’t do anything else. It’s my life and my passion. I’m lucky enough to have a profession as a event designer where I’m immersed in a constant creative process as well

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My art studio is inside of the Tower Hotel in Little Havana. Therefore, I would take her to Calle Ocho of course!! It’s the coolest place in Miami. Full of energy, music, people, restaurants and bars. It’s so alive

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this story to my painting teacher Yovanni Bauta and my curator Adriana Herrera. And to all my clients in art and in events that trust me in my creative process.
