Meet Georgia Themelis | Realtor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Georgia Themelis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Georgia, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make was deciding to move to a new country and start over from scratch. This decision took a lot of time, courage and strength, leaving behind everything I knew to go to a place I knew nothing about. I left behind my family and friends, as well as my business, which was well established. Making this transition was not easy, but it was good for me. I’ve learned so much about myself and what I’m truly capable of doing and achieving. I’m looking forward to this new chapter in my life, making new friends, having new experiences and the success as I work to establish my business once again.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Seven years ago, I decided to start my own business, I spent the next two years in intense studies and exams, as required by the province of Ontario, to become a licensed realtor. Within a year of joining my brokerage my business was established.
Two years ago, I made the decision to relocate to Florida, and of course, get my realtor license. I joined a brokerage that really cares about their agents and provided me with an extra 125 hours of intense training, always encouraging their new agents to visit new construction projects as well as open houses.
Today, I find myself facing many new challenges. Besides marketing, many realtors rely on referrals from friends and family or past clients. Being new to South Florida, this is challenging for me as I really have to put all my energy into marketing and networking as much and as often as possible. It’s a challenge I look forward to, as there are many opportunities to meet new people and get myself and my name out there.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First off we are headed to Hollywood beach! The broadwalk has some really great little shops for souvenirs and swimwear as well as some really great restaurants. After soaking up the sun on the beach we will head to Rocco’s Pizza and sit on the patio while watching a free concert. Other places to visit are Flamingo Gardens, an airboat tour of The Everglades, Butterfly Museum, A walk along Riverwalk in Fort Lauderdale and hop in the free boat along the river, stopping at Sushi Garage for some of the best sushi. Las Olas beach on the weekend has a farmers market and bizarre with fresh fruits, and lots of clothing and accessories.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost my parents, they have always encouraged, guided and supported my decisions while offering their own experiences and advice. Secondly, my brokerage Ancona Real Estate Inc. Specifically Peter Ancona and Jose Ruiz. This dynamic duo really equips new agents with over 125 hours of training. They definitely need recognizing, thank you both.
