Meet Gina Moon

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gina Moon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gina, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
For decades I’ve been devoted to hosting, design, and creating intentional spaces that bring people together in meaningful ways. Beautifying environments and cultivating community is my lifelong passion. My wellness brand, Moon and Jai, evolved into Moon Temple, a brick-and-mortar shop and event space for workshops and community experiences.
When a friend asked me to create the florals for their wedding, it was a full body YES, and it opened a new creative path. After that experience, I dove into studying floral arts and quickly discovered how transformative flowers can be.
Moon and Blossom grew from that, focused on crafting florals that create a sense of wonder and warmth, shaping the way people experience a space. Each arrangement is designed to feel intentional and unique. I truly don’t work with formulas, so all of the arrangements on the site are “designer’s choice” because I want them to always feel inspired and alive and never repetitive or prescriptive!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My North star and highest consideration has always been creating intentional environments that inspire human connection. Moon and Blossom grew from my love of creating spaces that feel alive and welcoming. I started with Moon and Jai, my ritual wellness brand, it later grew into Moon Temple, a crystal shop and a sanctuary for workshops and gatherings. I started bringing flowers into events and gatherings, and I felt how they transformed energy and mood. My arrangements started getting more elaborate, I started learning floristry. It opened a new creative path for me that i knew was completely aligned with my Soul’s purpose.
I focus on designs that bring vibrant positive energy to spaces and events. Florals become conversation pieces. There are so many studies showing that flowers aren’t just decoration -they lower cortisol, lift your mood, reduce anxiety and make a room feel truly alive. And of course, coming from extensive background in wellness I am a foam free florist. While floral foam is widely used, it contains formaldehyde and petroleum ~ materials I choose not to bring into my clients’ spaces. Instead, I design using thoughtful, sustainable techniques that are both beautiful and better for you and the environment.
Building the business has been a mix of experimentation and learning. I am always studying, exploring new mechanics, attending and teaching workshops to bring new trends and inspired ideas to every project.
Truly, I am in love with what I create and how it makes people feel. For me every arrangement and installation is a tiny (or big 🙂 celebration. I love these moments that bring inspiration and transform spaces and celebrations into extraordinary memories that stay with us …

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am absolutely blessed with the most incredible community in Miami, snd there are always spontaneous gatherings, celebrations and intentional events. And can we agree that Miami has the best food? We would walk around design district and grad a coffee and a pastry at Baker and Barista, but a dress at Carolina K and enjoy dinner at Mandolin. Of course we would go for a visit and snack to Plant The Future! Our other favorites include brunch at Pastis, lunch at Zak the Baker, and dinner at Uchiko or Uchi. Hidden gems like Gaucho Ranch and Luna Pasta are always a treat. Upper Buena Vista and Ironside are such lovely places to walk, browse and grab a bite. Tea at Admari and a snack at Citadel are also fun! We love visiting PAMM, ICA and the Rubell Museum and Superblue Miami, especially for sound healing events with Yogi Shelly.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have been incredibly blessed with the most supportive, loving and encouraging people in my life! My beloved Alejo is my most generous and patient supporter. My partner Sharon Aluma is an incredible visionary artist and a huge source of inspiration. My mentor and amazing friend Karla Dascal is someone I consistently learn from. Paloma Teppa inspires me with her open heart and her creations. So many powerful, gifted, passionate people in our community doing amazing things! You know who you are 🙂
