We had the good fortune of connecting with Gio Gutierrez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gio, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I saw Michael Schwartz doing a book signing. People were asking where he buys his produce, what’s in his fridge, etc. I loved that experience, so I made an online show out of it.

What should our readers know about your business?
While I live and breathe Miami, you will typically find me traveling the country—hosting events and seminars, guest bartending anywhere where they’ll let me shake up a daiquiri, or tell stories. I just want to satiate my insatiable thirst through educating and inspiring those around me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Favorite business are the ones the mom and pop shop that grow and succeed. Like my business partners from Phuc Yea (Ani and Ceez) for building a successful restaurant from scratch, Suzy from Azucar Ice Cream for starting a new life/career and crushing it, or Danny / Rosa from El Sanguich with something as simple as elevating Miami’s staple with THE best Cuban Sandwich.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
So many people to give a shoutout to… but if I had to pick just one person, it’s my creator, my mother, Bertha Gutierrez. I am the man today because of her.
