Meet Gissell Uriarte | Professional makeup artist/ hairstylist and aesthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gissell Uriarte and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gissell, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
My biggest and most impactful role as a parent is giving my daughter my undivided attention, being a positive role model, also teaching her about God provides her with the foundation for a strong character that will guide her throughout her life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My love for makeup artistry, and beauty in general began when I was a little girl, and today, it’s so much more than just a job, it’s my passion. As a makeup artist, I take pride not only in the quality of my work but in my commitment to ethics and genuine care for my clients. Making them look and feel their absolute best is my goal, and every happy client truly means the world to me.
Getting to where I am today professionally took hard work, patience, and consistency. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve learned to embrace each challenge. Consistency has been key to overcoming obstacles, along with the lesson to never take anything for granted and to appreciate even the small wins.
I want people to know that my brand is built on passion, resilience, and a willingness to take risks. To aspiring entrepreneurs: go for it, believe in yourself, and don’t give up. Keep going, and you’ll keep growing.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Miami, I’d make sure they experienced all the highlights and hidden gems that make this city special!
First, we’d spend some time at the beach—because in Miami, the beach is essential. There’s nothing like soaking up the sun, swimming in the ocean, and enjoying the vibrant energy around South Beach or a quieter spot like Key Biscayne.
We’d definitely visit a Cuban restaurant. Miami’s Cuban culture is so rich, and it wouldn’t be a complete trip without savoring Cuban coffee, authentic Cuban sandwiches, and maybe a little mojito to kick things off. Versailles and La Carreta are classic spots for a true taste of Miami’s Cuban heritage.
Wynwood would be another must-see on our list. It’s the ultimate destination for art lovers, with its famous street murals, unique galleries, and trendy cafes. Walking through Wynwood Walls and checking out local shops would be a fun, artsy afternoon.
For some nightlife, we’d hit up Little Havana for live music, dancing, and maybe a cigar lounge for the full Miami experience. We’d round out the week with a boat tour around Biscayne Bay, catching the incredible views of the city and celebrity homes.
By the end of the trip, I’d make sure my friend felt the real Miami—sun, culture, food, and unforgettable vibes.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my beautiful family! To my amazing husband and daughter, thank you for being my constant motivation and always standing by my side.
And to my wonderful mom thank you for always believing in me, supporting my dreams, and encouraging me to make them a reality. I’m so grateful for each of you!
