We had the good fortune of connecting with Hilda Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hilda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to be able to share my passion and talent with others. For many years I’ve been creating delicious flans for family and friends. It was time to show the rest of the people what I’m able to do.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I make delicious flans. I create them in different flavors. For many years I’ve been doing this at family gatherings with great success and recognition. One day something changed. I realized my talent and passion has to be shared. With a little push and a lot of dedication, FLANbulous was born.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely the beach! Everything about it makes me fall in love. The sound of the waves, the sand on my feet, the sun on my skin… priceless. The beach atmosphere day or night has to be the best place to enjoy and get away. Must be the island in me. Born and raised Cuban, Miami is simply where I have to be.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My dear friend Alex. He inspired me to leave the fear behind and start creating.
