We had the good fortune of connecting with Humberto Comellas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Humberto, what role has risk played in your life or career?
In general, life is full of challenges and events. Some better the others, but they all contribute the overall outcome. Taking risk is what lets you know you’re alive. It elevates your pulse and makes you think twice about what you are about to do. Personal and professional growth comes from these experiences, the wins and losses all contribute.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have been in the technology sector since 1982. Starting directly after high school and at the early stages in the industry, allowed me to truly embrace I/T and recognized the impact it was going to have in our daily lives. But anyone in the industry, will tell you that no two days are alike and filled with challenges. That is where the high comes… overcoming them and seeing through to the other side.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live Miami, Fla. where most people vacation. We are spoiled with access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Our diverse culture and our community are like no other. Miami is a true melting pot of the best the world has to offer. The water sports and recreation added to the incredible restaurants and nightlife. I have a dear friend who just keeps coming back, I keep telling him to move already.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Many people have contributed in one way or another. My grandfather on my mothers side, who taught me to be driven, never give up and most importantly how to be a gentleman. My uncle who passed many years ago, who taught me how appreciate others and the little things. My children they taught me that life is much bigger then you. My In-laws taught me the true meaning of family. Finally my wife of almost 34 years, she showed me what unconditional love and support means.
