We had the good fortune of connecting with Hunnie B and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hunnie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My motto in life has always been no risk equals no reward. With that being said, the role risk plays in my life is a role of calculated risks. Calculated risks allow me to break free with my creativity, they also allow for an adrenaline rush without fear.

Everything I’ve accomplished and achieved in my life and in my career was a direct result of having taken a risk not knowing if I would be able to achieve a goal. I aim high with my goals and encourage others to never be afraid to take that risk!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My name is Hunnie B. I came from very humble beginnings, We had no extra money and i was an ugly duckling at that! One thing I have always had is art in my life. No matter where I am or what I have, creativity fills the void within me. I feel the need to create something each day in order to feel accomplished. That drive has gotten me several collaborations and an amazing record deal, along with the opportunity to work with the industries best! But that’s just the icing on the cake, now there’s a chance that my music can resonate with others who feel the way I do!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a good friend visiting Miami, we would go to South Beach first! Kill your idol is a favorite karaoke bar run by a drag queen who happens to share the same name as my best friend. I love the fun we have on stage and the Hester bartenders are fun with their man buns LOL…. Next I would take her on a trip to the world erotic art museum.. Yes, I said it! But why? Sex is a misunderstood taboo in our culture…… The nearly 20-year-old museum explores thousands of years of sex through classical art, ancient artifacts and a trove of sex toys. In addition to housing a huge collection of erotic art, WEAM features a sizeable collection of antique penises!
And of course no vacation would be complete to Miami without the ocean! One of my favorite beaches is by 12th and Ocean Drive!! Nothing like that salt air to wake up your mind and refresh your day!
The best spot to stay is The Betsy Hotel. Directly facing the ocean, this enchanting hotel is known for its sparkling rooftop pool. The hotel is home to one of the top steak and seafood restaurants in South Beach, Laurent Tourondel’s LT Steak & Seafood.
I love it when my friends come to Miami with me!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shout out to my best male friend and mentor Kowkow! He has encouraged me, always been supportive, and told me to never give up on myself! When the going gets tough he reminds me that the tough need to get going! Thank you Kowkow for always being in my life!
