We had the good fortune of connecting with Iwonka Urbanska and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Iwonka, what are you inspired by?
Well, honestly, it will be hard to say that one person is inspiring me. I think the most real and honest answer is that my biggest inspiration is all my difficult moment in my life who created me – those moments when you think that can not be worse … more difficult … lonely, and you will not make it as you feel like all is against you but then you just taking a little break and asking yourself – Who am ? and What I want from this life? What can I give? And then I keep going. The bed moments inspired me to try my best not to go through them again and protect everyone I love. I believe that we all can make changes in this world, and I want to believe that I will be one of them so I can say that possibility of making the world a better place to be inspired me to. It is like a circle of the past and future, creating balance. We must find what inspired us and become one of them.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I don’t think so anything was easy in my life, but that what created me and made me so strong to fight with all difficulties. The most difficult thing in my career is deciding and sticking to it, pushed even if nobody believes in you, and after some time, you start to doubt yourself. Nobody said it would be easy, and to be honest, it is getting only harder if you know what You want from life. At some point, the life choices for me. I finished 5 years of an architect, and I have a bachelor’s from political science, and I’m working in hospitality, and the most fascinating for me is studying is people behavior. I never have the privilege of my parent helping me and sponsoring my colleague or university. I knew it if I want something, I need to find a way to get it, so I have been working and studying simultaneously for many years and playing sport every day in the first lig. Once I finished university, I get a great job in a logistics company as a transport specialist, and I become very successful in the next few years. But I always knew that there is more up there globally, and I want to take what I can, so I decided to move to the UK and improve my language. To do so, I had to drop my pride, and I start to work in the agency as I factory worker for another year once I have studied English. It was one of the most difficult times in my life. I become so sad I almost give up as I didn’t want to work like this with my education and experience, but I had to put my ego on the said and pushed myself more. After 1 year, I start to work in the office, and the fashion story and I grow from there. I start to travel, and I moved to Portugal and France for some time. Once I back to Londo, I start to work In the hospitality industry, and I love it. I worked in Zuma London, and they allow me to come work in Zuma Miami. From the moment I arrived, I never stop working. In the last 4 years, I helped opened 2 restaurants, and I work as a manager in 3. I’m currently working in Osaka in Brickell, and I love every moment of inspiring my guest and employees. What is challenging is the hours I have to put into my work and luck of private life as I’m not gonna relax until I reach my goals. And the most painful for me is being so far away from my family and home. I miss Europe so much, but I know I have so much more to accomplish here.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
