We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Zuckier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was driven by a combination of purpose, opportunity, and long-term vision. In 2024, my husband and I relocated to Florida with a clear goal: to create a better life for our family while building something meaningful together. We purchased a Five Star Painting franchise, allowing us to combine entrepreneurship with our complementary strengths. My husband oversees day-to-day operations, while I lead the marketing, social media, and advertising efforts.

Florida’s rapidly growing home services market, especially the painting industry, presented a compelling opportunity. It has not only allowed our business to scale quickly, but has also reaffirmed our belief in entrepreneurship as a pathway to growth, resilience, and the American dream which we so deeply value.

Alongside the franchise, I continue to work full-time as a senior marketing leader with more than 25 years of experience driving growth, brand authority, and demand generation for global organizations across both B2B and B2C markets. I also serve as President of the AMA South Florida Chapter, where I am deeply committed to advancing marketing excellence, leadership, and innovation within the industry.

Having built my career in Canada and now growing a business in the United States, I bring a global perspective to everything I do. The ability to blend international experience with entrepreneurship and marketing industry leadership has been both energizing and deeply rewarding, and it’s only the beginning!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting South Florida for a week, I’d want them to experience the full lifestyle, from Miami’s urban vibes, the cultural energy, to the elegance of Palm Beach.

We’d start in South Beach with a walk along Ocean Drive to take in the iconic Art Deco architecture, followed by exploring Lincoln Road for shopping, people-watching, and the vibrant tourist energy. For dinner, we’d wander down Española Way, where the lights along the walkway create a magical nighttime vibe while enjoying one of the cozy restaurants tucked into the street. Later, we’d head to Brickell for cocktails, or people watching at Sexy Fish.

Midweek, we’d explore Wynwood to see the incredible Wynwood Walls and creative studios. We’d then walk over to the Design District to check out the shops, galleries and restaurants.

One day would be dedicated to Palm Beach, starting with lunch at The Breakers, an iconic property full of timeless elegance. We’d spend the afternoon strolling Worth Avenue, popping into shops, and soaking in the refined atmosphere. For sunset drinks, the bar at The Colony Hotel is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the atmosphere.

Another day would be spent in Little Havana, walking Calle Ocho, listening to live music at Cafe La Trova, dancing at Ball & Chain, and taking in the vibrant culture, art, and local flavor that make this neighborhood so unique.

Finally, we’d explore Coconut Grove, starting with lunch at GreenStreet Café, wandering the streets, and visiting Vizcaya Museum & Gardens for a mix of history, architecture, and beautiful gardens. We’d end the day with drinks at Level 5 Rooftop Bar, enjoying city and ocean views.

What makes South Florida so special isn’t just the places, it’s the people and the lifestyle. From entrepreneurs and creatives to vibrant neighborhoods and unforgettable cuisine, this region is bold, dynamic, and endlessly interesting. A week here gives you a taste of everything that makes it so magnetic!
