We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessille Starkman & Andrea Dominguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea and Jessille, how do you think about risk?
There is always risk involved in starting a business, however starting a business during a pandemic seems overly risky. Jessille and Andrea decided to take a leap of faith when most would decide to pull back. They are firm believers that the bigger the risk the bigger the reward, and they know that an important part of success is to believe that the impossible is possible. The entrepreneurs have decided to sweat instead of sigh and have founded a boutique bakery, Forestta. The idea behind Forestta is to create an artisanal and artistic bakery, breaking with market paradigms. They want to offer the consumer a full sensorial experience, a space and time to disconnect from the everyday.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Forestta is a boutique bakery with an artistic flair. Jessille and Andrea are excited to offer their customers more than just bread, the idea is to offer an experience. They want Forestta to awaken the patrons senses and to experience something outside of the mundane. Given the current health crisis the way was not always easy. They found that by adjusting their plans to a delivery only business model was the best way to continue. Forestta’s plans to open a brick and mortar store are still standing and they partners are planning a grand opening in the near future
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Miami is a vibrant city with a lot of culture. Wynwood is a must visit, both to appreciate art and food. Miami Beach and Brickell are great for nightlife and of course watersports can’t be missed
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We couldn’t have done it without the support of our family and friend and above all G-d
