We had the good fortune of connecting with Jia Li and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jia, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
With today’s fast-paced and stressful lifestyle, TeaTell Truth believes that spending a few minutes to brew loose tea leaves will help connect you with your inner self. Tea is unlike any beverage due to its positive effects on mental and physical health.
We offer organic tea from the ancient tea forest in Yunnan, China which is the tea birthplace. Tea Tell Truth focuses specifically on ‘Puerh’ Tea, which is a high-quality tea from Yunnan. This tea is healthy because it is brewed with post-fermented tea leaves. Fermentation significantly improves its health benefits.
Also, we offer Hands-on Tea Mindfulness events that will help you to slow down. A one-of-a-kind ceremony includes tea brewing and tasting. Tea Mindfulness is an active meditation that allows you to step into the present moment and release any anxieties from the fast-paced world we live in. This ceremony promotes inner peace and reduces stress. Take some time out of your life to slow down in a meaningful way with Tea Tell Truth.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is Jia Li, I was born in the mountainous region of Yunnan in China, where tea originated.
I use to be a doctor in Yunnan. I came to the US in 2010 for a research opportunity. Up until 2019, I was working as a Neuroscientist at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Also, I Finished the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program at UMASS Medical School.
I am passionate about lifestyle medicine which balances eastern and western therapies. She has been working on detox programs for more than 7 years and helped a lot of families and friends. She will continue her wellness journey and help more people.
Right now I am full-time focusing on Tea Tell Truth.
Bearing witness to some of the negative consequences of Western medicine, my mission became helping people through
the art of drinking tea.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We are based in West Palm Beach. Rosemary Square is my favorite spot to hang out. Of course the beaches. The ocean wave heals people.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Tea Tell Truth’s family has developed lifelong partnerships with tea farmers and tea masters in my home country. Yunnan Tea Farmers provide authentic and traditional processing, that results in an unmatched
taste and level of quality.
We appreciate their hard work and they are protecting our ancient tea forest.
