We had the good fortune of connecting with John Everyman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi John, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My podcast I believe has helped in the sense of giving the local underground scene for entertainers and other local professionals alike a chance to share their journeys with their respective careers. It allows an opportunity for someone who may have a similar interest to be inspired perhaps and find some insights that will help them achieve success in a simialr area. Also the podcast makes for some great entertainment to escape from the mundane.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an entertainer / entrepreneur as most seem to be in the “modern day” if you will, lol. But my passion lies torn between stand-up comedy and acting mainly. I don’t feel much sets me apart from those out there but I feel my personality has to be what sets me apart from others, I been proclaimed as laid back with a cool demeanor. I can honestly say one of my most exciting accomplishments would have to be the Everyman Podcast Show. I feel like I’ve given people the platform to tell their own stories about their lives both personally and professionally, no matter if they’re famous or not famous, rich or poor, we want share the story with our listeners and viewers. And it makes me proud that I have achieved this. What got me to this point was determination, consistency, and having a major interest in what I want to do. My journey was not easy, my family is always a priority and raising my son took presidence over everything so my ability to maintain a family and become an entertainer took its toll on certain days and that was HUGE challenge at times. My determination to make sure there was a balance between the two, was what I believe the biggest attribute to ability to overcome those challenges. I feel like the biggest lesson I learned with my journey into the entertainment business in general is that there is always going to be an unexpected evolution in your field and you must always be the student at all times, maintain humbleness, and genuinely have fun with the process. I feel like I would like all to know that we have an amazing Podcast filled with some of the most inspiring and interesting stories available for individuals of all walks of life, and it’s sorta funny too, we love to have fun along the process!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh wow, I would be such a crazy tour guide for sure, lol! First off, we gotta eat cuban food and plenty of it! My culture growing up is cuban, so get ready for the “Pan Con Bistec” or “Frita Burger” at “Rey De La Fritas” off Bird Rd. Then dinner at “La Havana Vieja” in Coral Gables we eating “Bistec con Arroz Moro” (dirty rice n black beans) or “Vaca Frita De Carne”. In between all this “Cuban Coffee shots” (we not sleeping in this tour). Then we need pizza in Miami, so we goin to “Casolas”, that’s my jam for the late night Munchies. Before we go to Casola’s we goin to a strip club in South Miami, we off to “BTs”, it’s cool because it’s not that sketchy strip club type. We need to hit the beach, so off to “Hollywood Beach” it’s so dam quiet and parking is so much easier, its gorgeous. We gonna see comedy, it’s a crying shame if we didn’t, we would then go to a bar for that, so we can see some underground comics, my buddy Manny at “Miami Comedy” would have that set for us, but the same could be said about “Dade County Comedy” (Mike Daba) or “Comic Cure” (Ben Leis) or the Doral Improv with Ridiculous Nicolas (a MUST see). But we still need to party.and I’m older so I say we off to “Blue Martini” in Kendall so we can see if we run into some “cougars”. After all this we back at Pinecrest Bakery having breakfast before we realize I need to rush on the palmetto expressway to get my friend back to the airport before they miss their flight.
