We had the good fortune of connecting with Jose Taveras and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jose, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Every time I go into the studio and start working on Real Relate and creating content, I always think about my friends and family first. They inspire me beyond belief, and when things get difficult or I hit a roadblock, I always revert back to the constructive criticism they’ve given me throughout the years. I dig deep and remember who I represent when I’m on these platforms and reviewing these products. There are days I struggle, but I continue to lock in and grind for them. Honestly, I was a little nervous at first when it came to making content, but my friends, family, and the Real Relate Fam have helped me become a better, more secure version of myself. They’ve helped me be more myself and given me the confidence to share that with the world. Now, I’m inspired not just by my friends and family, but by my fellow content creators. The friendly competition between each other and the constant desire to do better than my last effort has allowed me to push RR to even greater heights.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At first glance, someone might look at Real Relate and think it’s just a kid’s brand or have no idea what it’s all about. But just like peeling an onion, when you dig deeper into the layers and truly dive into the content, you’ll see the raw emotion and passion behind it. That’s the point—Real Relate is all about authenticity.

Reviewing products or media isn’t anything new, but what sets us apart is our mission and our community. Being real doesn’t mean always being right, it means bringing your full, true self to the table. At Real Relate, your opinions matter, and you can count on being heard—whether we agree on the score or not. And that’s the relatable part.

Join me in the comments for just a few moments, and you’ll feel like you’ve known me forever because I truly care about this community. I believe in the RR Fam—our die-hard fans who’ve been with us since day one, and even the newbies who’ve just joined us. They’ve helped make my wildest dreams come true, whether it’s rocking our merch or having full-blown discussions with me live on Twitch.

The journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth every moment. There were plenty of trials, errors, and lonely nights along the way. But if you keep pushing to be just a little bit better every day, I promise you’ll eventually break through. It’s all about consistency, discipline, and of course, having fun along the way.

What I want the world to know is that no matter where you are or who you are, Real Relate will always be there for you. Don’t be too hard on yourself—Real Relate is here to give you the feedback and answers you need to grow, whether it’s life advice or deciding on the latest tech. Many people need the truth from a relatable source, and that’s where I come in. Whether it’s advice on life or picking out a new camera, you can trust that I’ve spent my hard-earned cash, invested time in the product, and will always give you my unfiltered thoughts to help you spend your money wisely. That’s the true value of RR. Standing together, make sure our voice is heard, and keeping these companies accountable!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ve been living in Miami for about three years now, and I love trying all sorts of activities across the city. But if you’re coming to Miami, you have to try some great Cuban food and, of course, hit the beach. For food, I’d take them to Versailles in Little Havana for some classic Cuban dishes, Sexy Fish for a fancy late-night dinner, and Kiki On The River for a Mediterranean vibe with a boat view. And, of course, a trip to Publix is a must—they NEED to try a pub sub! I’d also grab brunch in Wynwood and walk around to check out the art scene.

For the full Miami experience, we’d definitely visit South Beach and Ocean Drive, but for a real beach day, we’d head to North Miami Beach near Surfside. There’s also daily walks around the Brickell Key, renting a boat for a sunset cruise by Brickell Bay, and shopping at Brickell City Centre. If the vibe calls for it, we’d get a daybed at the SLS pool party, catch a concert or game at the Kaseya Center, and maybe even watch an Inter Miami CF game. For late-night adventures, we’d catch the sunrise at Club Space, hit up Waffle House, and somehow end up at E11even.

There’s so much to do in Miami, especially around Brickell, that I could go on forever. But honestly, some of the best moments we’ve had are just chilling on the balcony, watching the city lights while listening to music.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for my grandmother. I love her with all my heart and everything I do is for her. Of course, my mother, brothers, uncles, aunts, cousins, and best friend Adrian all deserve recognition, but my grandmother is the one above all. She was always there for me when I needed it the most and always supported me when no one else did. She always gave me a chance to shine and believed I could become #1. She believed in me more than I believed in myself. She made me feel like I could do anything and she always made sure I felt appreciated. To this day, I still try to find new ways to make her proud. Without her there is no me.
