We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Lurie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Julie, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Other than deciding to work for myself, the single most important decision I made that contributed to my success was building a strong support system—both professionally and personally. Early on, I realized that I couldn’t do it all alone. I intentionally built a team I could trust, delegated wisely, and aligned myself with people who shared my values and work ethic. At the same time, I created boundaries to protect time for my family—my husband and our three boys—and my community commitments. That balance keeps me grounded and fuels my drive. Investing in people, systems, and structure gave me the ability to grow a business while still showing up fully at home and in the community.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career in real estate has been a blend of passion, persistence, and purpose. What sets me apart is the personal connection I bring to each transaction—I’m not just helping people buy or sell a home, I’m guiding them through a major life transition with empathy, clarity, and strategy. I’ve built my business on relationships, referrals, and reputation, and I take pride in showing up consistently for my clients, my team, and my community.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. Balancing motherhood, marriage, community involvement, and entrepreneurship meant making a lot of sacrifices and learning how to set priorities quickly. I’ve faced moments of doubt, burnout, and tough lessons—but I’ve also experienced tremendous growth. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of boundaries and structure. When I respected my time and focused on systems that supported both my business and my family, everything began to fall into place.

What I’m most proud of is the example I’m setting for my three boys—that you can build something meaningful without losing sight of what matters most at home. I want the world to know that my story isn’t about quick wins or overnight success. It’s about staying rooted in my values, surrounding myself with the right people, and never losing sight of the bigger picture. My brand is built on trust, heart, and hustle—and I’m just getting started.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Fort Lauderdale has such a special place in my heart—it’s not just where I live and work, it’s where I feel most alive. There’s truly nothing like a walk down Las Olas Boulevard, with its charm, energy, and mix of local shops and restaurants. One of my favorite spots to eat is Noodle Panini—it’s cozy, delicious, and always hits the spot after a long day. On the weekends, we love getting out on the water. A fishing charter is one of the best ways to soak up everything Fort Lauderdale has to offer—sun, sea, and a little adventure. And when it’s time to unwind with friends, you’ll find me at The Wharf. It’s such a fun, laid-back spot right on the river with great music and even better vibes. Whether it’s for work or play, I feel so lucky to call this city home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without a doubt, my shoutout goes to my husband, Nick. He is truly the backbone of my life—my biggest supporter, sounding board, and steady presence through it all. I would not have been able to start and grow my real estate business without his unwavering support. He’s an incredible dad to our three boys and holds it all together at home when I’m pulled in multiple directions. Beyond that, he’s someone I can trust completely when it comes to business—whether I need to talk through an idea, weigh a tough decision, or just get honest feedback. His belief in me, both personally and professionally, has made all the difference, and I’m so grateful to have him by my side.
