We had the good fortune of connecting with Kasey Knights and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kasey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was primarily Independence of becoming my own boss, while doing something that I love. Entrepreneurship gave me the freedom to use my creativity.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
K & K Creationz is black owned company that specializes in quality apparel with unique and witty phases. Our clothing allows you to stand out in crowds while confidently expressing yourself.

I am Proud of myself for overcoming fear and becoming an entrepreneur.

I got where I am today by perseverance and hard work. No, it was not easy I overcame the challenges by putting my best foot forward everyday.

The lesson that I have learned along the way is no matter how hard it gets do not give up.

I would like the world to know that K&K Creationz is a unique brand that expresses my creativity.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Well, I am West Indian, so we going to FETE for like a week!! Let’s say it’s in the beginning of October (Carnival Week) We’re first starting with eating at Joys Roti Shop before going to Bon Ami on Wednesday night, then Thursday we would be attending Sunrise and Shades in the morning and Tribe Ignite during the night on the way home, we would stop by Jamaica House they are open 24 hours a day, so we would go grab some Jerk Chicken before we go home. Friday we would go Moksha early morning, Citrus during the day, then to _uck Work to end off the night. Saturday morning we would get up and go to J’ouvert (J’ouvert is a large cultural celebration during Carnival where they use paint, water, and sometimes powder as props to enjoy the event. It’s usually an early morning event.then end the night at Viva la Carnival. When Sunday come, we are playing Mas with Collective Mas for the whole day. On Monday we would have our last lap at SSS Blue (one of the biggest J’ouvert for Miami Carnival).

This event is for the whole day, by the time that’s done we would probably stop by Singh’s Roti Delight for some Doubles, and that would be the ending of the trip.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God has definitely helped along this road. He is the one who gave me this vision to become an entrepreneur. My Family definitely deserves some of my recognition as well, They are the ones that keep me on my toes and keeps me going from day to day. Any questions or problems that I have they are always willing to help me along this path of entrepreneurship.
