We had the good fortune of connecting with Kassim Richards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kassim, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I didn’t really think about Photography as a career it was something I just did as a hobby, but then things just started to fall into place. It’s like they say just do what you love and the world will align itself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I set myself apart from others by doing what I love. I was always told to pick a set subject to shoot and master that. Whether it is portraits, cars, or lifestyle. I chose to shoot whatever I  liked. I live by one saying. “Shoot what you see, and the world will see it too.” Nothing is ever easy, if anyone said it was they are lying to you. You just need to put the work in and make it happen.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is difficult for me since I’m mostly a home body now. Get me a case of beer, some whiskey and we are good. A little BBQ in the backyard is me now. Before all this covid lock downs,  You would find me  bar hoping in Wynwood, brunch in Doral, and dinner in Fort Lauderdale. Now I’m just chilling. I’m sorry for this one, but I’m at a blank….lol

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
That’s a lot of people. Let’s just say my brother Aaron for always being there and running everything in the background. Le Messie for taking a chance on a kid from Jamaica to shoot and working on every project he had. Last but the most important everyone that stood in front of my camera and worked with me.
