Meet Kathia Joseph | Business owner Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kathia Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kathia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think taking risks means not being afraid to fail. It’s about believing in yourself, pushing forward even when things are uncertain, and never giving up on your dream.
Taking risks has made me stronger and helped me grow every single day.

What should our readers know about your business?
I own three restaurants—a steakhouse, a taco bar, and a Cuban spot—and honestly, it’s been a wild ride getting to where I am today. Each place is super different, but that’s kind of what I love most about it. I’m passionate about creating spaces where people can come together over amazing food, whether it’s a perfectly cooked ribeye, street-style tacos with a twist, or a plate of ropa vieja that reminds you of your abuela’s kitchen.
What sets us apart? I’d say it’s the vibe and attention to detail. We don’t just serve food—we try to create an experience. The steakhouse has this cozy, upscale feel without being stuffy. The taco bar is fun, fast, and full of flavor. And the Cuban restaurant is all about warmth, color, music, and soul—just like the culture it celebrates.
Getting here definitely wasn’t easy. There were sleepless nights, financial stress, staffing struggles—you name it. But I stayed committed, learned from every mistake, and surrounded myself with great people. I’m most proud of the teams we’ve built and the regulars who keep coming back. That means more than anything.
Biggest lessons? Don’t try to do everything yourself, always stay true to your vision, and treat your team like gold—because they are. I want people to know that we’re not some faceless business. There’s heart behind every dish, every drink, every detail. We care deeply about what we do, and we’re just getting started
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to town. i d’ definitely take them to all three of my restaurants-I ‘d show them some of my favorite hidden spots ,cool lounges, rooftop bar, and anywhere with a great vibe. Spend a day at the beach, maybe do a boat day and also squeeze in nature.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my family and friends who believe in me on this project when i was thinking to open my first restaurant. Their support really kept me going.
I also read a lot of books and quotes that gave me motivation. ‘ One that stuck with me is “ITS NOT HOW GOOD YOU ARE, IT’S HOW GOOD YOU WANT TO BE by Paul Arden
