We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristina Arrieta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristina, what do you attribute your success to?
I’ve noticed that there are a few common denominators to some of the most successful projects behind the brands I’ve worked for, and teamwork is one of them. It takes a village to successfully launch a project or campaign and it’s pretty awesome because every person plays a different role yet shares the same passion and vision.
In the world of social media marketing, other successful attributes are taking risks with content and strategies, testing new tactics, and staying ahead of the ever-evolving industry trends. Definitely keeps me on my toes, and I love it!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a creative brand storyteller with a love for social media strategy and content marketing. I started my career in the television industry (Olympusat) in S. FL where I executed social media marketing for various TV channels. I also had the opportunity to become a TV Host for a music network where I interviewed everyone from Juanes to Tiesto. This was such a fun experience however, I knew I wanted to expand and grow in the entertainment industry. That’s where I landed a job with Fortune 500, MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas! I packed my bags and began social media management for The Entertainment Authority, MGM Grand. From live covering The Latin GRAMMYs, UFC fights, and concerts to launching some of the most impactful social campaigns where I helped bring their first-ever Shorty Award!
I’m currently hard at work elevating the social content and influencer marketing game with a designer (yet affordable) eyewear brand, Privé Revaux, co-founded by Jamie Foxx and Hailee Steinfeld. Be sure to check it out at @priverevaux.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh, the possibilities are endless in Vegas! If my bestie is coming, we are going to do Vegas like a local. We’ll start the night with tasty libations at Paymons, then we’ll head to Herb’s and Rye and indulge in a nice dinner. We’ll head to Downtown Freemont to scope out the trendy local art installations and murals. Afterward, we’ll pop into a little spot called Artiface for an event they hold every weekend called “Soul State” and we’ll dance the night away to house music. For brunch the next morning, we’ll go to a little spot called Mimosas Gourmet where the food is quality and the mimosas are bigger than Texas lol.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m SO thankful to have the support from my close family and friends during my career, especially when I took the leap and decided to move to Vegas (from FL). I’m forever grateful to a special woman who saw something in me, hired me, and moved me to an amazing job at MGM Resorts, Beverly Jackson (@BevJack). Beverly was the Corporate VP of Social Marketing and I worked with her for over 2.5 years at MGM. She always brought this energy that was positively contagious, a true thought leader in the digital space, and provided a special mentorship that was just unparalleled. I learned so much from Beverly in such a short amount of time. from our one-on-one coffee meetings to her holding her own Social Media Summits, she made sure to school her team on the latest trends.
Beverly truly cares about the growth and development of her team and I’m forever thankful for everything she’s done for me personally and professionally. I will take her leadership with me wherever I go.
