We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Wilburne Aka – Dj Elle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren Wilburne, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
With Ewwe Wellness (Pronounced E-we) I really want to help, educate and inspire people to live healthy active lifestyles. People have a tendency to rely on Pharmaceutical drugs. I want to change people’s opinions on Cannabinoids because it has changed my life. It’s not just about taking something to feel better, you also need to strengthen your body with activities like Yoga or Pilates.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My “Art’ started out as DJ for over 20 years, I got to where I am professionally because of my love for music, persistence and work ethic. I am also most proud of the residencies in Miami that I held as a DJ for years. I have also now transitioned into a career that helps people. I am a Pilates/ Yoga Instructor and just recently started a Health & Wellness Brand called Ewwe Wellness (Pronounced E-we), that I am sooo excited about! I want the world to know that there is an alternative to traditional medicine called Cannabinoids. It has helped me soo much and i’m in the process of developing a line of Cannabinoid products to help with anything from anxiety, pain, sleep & much more. The products that I am developing right now are unlike anything on the market. Stay Tuned!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I LOVE this question because honestly every week someone new I know arrives in Miami and wants to know where to go etc… #1 You can’t ever go wrong with the beach for the day… I like to go to the beach South of Fifth. You can order drinks or snacks at Lolo’s Surf Cantina. Sweet Liberty has a new outdoor spot on the beach at The Shelborne it’s called Sweet Beach, Amazing drinks, snacks, music. (Thats a new fav) Since we are in South Beach now Broken Shaker /27 for food and drinks are amazing and outdoor vibes also. The Standard or the Mondrion to hang during the day on the bay is so relaxing and different scenery. I just recently had lunch with some friends at Garcia’s on the river in Miami, Amazing seafood and you can sit outside and it’s a classic Miami spot. Downtown Miami -Over Under, Amazing drinks good food, brunch and Dj’s that play Vinyl Records. Perez Museum is over there and def worth checking out. Design District – is fun to walk around there and there is so much to do. Restaurants, drinks, people watching. Some cool spots, Swan, Harry’s Pizza, Michaels Genuine & more… Wynwood – There is soo much there now including a Foot Locker, not sure where to start… 1800 Lucky, El Patio (latin music/vibes), Freehold (new addition), Racket, Astra (I DJ there some nights) , Le Chick, Panther coffee & Love Life Cafe, Zak The Baker are some of my fav places there and it honestly feels like there is a new spot opening everyday (not kidding).

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout out to The Pilates Place in Miami. They have been so supportive of my Pilates Journey. Also the clubs/venues I DJ at in Miami. I also have an amazing group of friends & family that are always inspiring me.
