We had the good fortune of connecting with Lidiana Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lidiana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started by small business to help out the hubs with our kids sports and school expenses. As we were a single income household I decided to be a stay at home mom when we married and our family grew to a home of 6 kiddos.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It has been a long tough road, which am still learning how to walk it everyday. When I first started crafting our children were all in middle school and as I was trying to grow my business we have had a few curve balls and life changes with having to move and family loss. But I kept on persevering and would use my crafting to cheer myself up and with having 5 kids in the house used it to motivate myself and show them if you work hard and push yourself you can achieve what you set your mind to. In the past year I have focused on growing my business as all our kids are older the baby of the house graduates this year high school which has been a bit of a struggle juggling all her sport, ceremonies and events but have been doing my best and she is proud of me as I am proud of her 😊. I’m learning now to take time to gather my thoughts as I have been on a high speed train ride for the past year. But am proud of myself for not giving up on my dreams and my husband and kids for encouraging me to keep at it. My future goal is to be able to open a small shop and continue to do events.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop in a week visit to see me is the beach. Naples beach to start the fun in the sun then drinks and dinner at Carrabba’s. Then next destination would be Clearwater Marine as sea life is so beautiful to see and learn about, then go to Pier 60 and enjoy the evening there. May take some time to go fishing. Definitely take her to an event with me so she can meet some of the amazing vendors and new people I get to meet. But most of the vacation visit will be revolved around beach and water. Being born out of state and having friends and family living out of the state what we all love to do the most is enjoy the sun, sand, beach and ocean life here in Florida.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So I am where I am today thanks to a very sweet friend who encouraged me to sell my crafts. She was my first customer, she had me do all the cups for her wedding party. After that order the rest is history, I have been creating new cups and different Knick knacks in my business like gift baskets and personalized gift items. My husband has also been my #1 cheerleader. He is always willing to help and go the extra mile in my adventures in growing my business. I have now nicknamed him my employee of the month.🤣
