We had the good fortune of connecting with Lily Vera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lily, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
My most important decision I made was to identify my creative style and stick to it. I have a minimalistic approach to branding and that’s what my client base knows me for. It’s what I enjoy and what comes naturally. I tried catering to so many different styles in the beginning and I wasn’t true to myself and you could tell. Now I’m confident in what I create is a pure vision of what my clients want in their business image.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m in love with the concept of business. All businesses intrigue me. From the make up, operations to the creative side of what makes all businesses thrive. I am in the business of helping businesses align their vision and mission with their aesthetic presence. I’ve learned to stay true to myself and work from passion and have fun! I hope that my work reflects my personality and dedication to my craft.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to the beach on 37th and Collins and go to breakfast at the front porch. After that I would take them to 8th street to azúcar my favorite ice cream spot and end the day at dinner at a small mom and pop Mexican food place in Kendall Antojitos.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family is my biggest support system. I would like to thank my husband Ricky and my family, mom and sister. Along with my amazing friends that do nothing but support my dreams and goals as well. I love you guys and you all know who you are.
