Meet Linda Clarke | Public Speaker & Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Linda Clarke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Linda, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for my business developed as I was wrapping up being a co-author for my first book. I remember my writing coach asking “What’s next? What do you want to do with your life?” The experience of writing a best selling book, inspiring other women and tapping into my love of mentoring led me to work on developing a life coaching business called “Write the Vision”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been a fixture in the financial services industry for twenty-five years. I remember being so young starting out. One blessing that I am thankful for throughout my professional career is having strong leaders around me. I was supported as an employee while pursing my bachelors and masters degrees.

One of the biggest challenges I learned to navigate was becoming a mother while being a rising star in my career. I learned the importance of work/life balance, putting family first and even saying no to certain opportunities. I learned that it was okay to step away from the workforce and toxic workplace cultures.

What sets me apart is the depth of knowledge and experience I acquired at a relatively young age. I bought my first home at the age of 28 by learning the banking system. I am able to speak confidently about how to make those systems work for the average consumer.

With everything that I have accomplished, the message that I want to leave as it relates to my brand and my story is that no matter how many years you have invested in one industry, it’s never too late to be inspired to do something new. Public speaking, becoming an author, mentoring and having opportunities to teach are things I acquired love for within the last 5 years. I’m excited about where this next chapter leads.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being a true island girl, any trip to my area would be incomplete without a trip to my favorite beach – Jaws Beach on the western end of the island. Clifton Heritage Park is next door with historical views and great trails. Paradise Island is also a must see – amazing sunrises, harbor views, great dining.

Hang out and specifically happy hour spots with live bands and music are great ways to unwind – Travelers Rest along the beach, Spotlight Lounge in Coral Harbour and two of my favorite chill spots.

Interacting with fun, exciting people – I’ll definitely say Arawak Cay is the place – great mix of popular dining, local food and drinks in a festive atmosphere.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my mentors at Toastmasters International, specifically my fellow members from Sunrise Toastmasters in Florida and Healing Communicators in The Bahamas, along my tribe at Women Thrive Media. They have been so instrumental in my growth as a public speaker and positioning me as a best selling author.
