We had the good fortune of connecting with Loretta Clarke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Loretta, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We started our business in the midst of the pandemic as a response to the needs of the community. It all began with a handful of masks in April 2020. Over time, we’ve added protective scrubcaps, scrubhats, and stylish wristlets to the collection. Rising to the occasion during a supply shortage was no easy feat but resilience was key.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been a nurse for over 30 years with a large range of experience in many areas of healthcare. The challenges, tests, and trials of the healthcare system has made me the nurse that I am today. I’ve learned that being a fierce advocate for my patients is a big factor that sets me apart from others. This brand was created as a way to use our skills and talents to give back to the community, form connections, and make an impact. I am most proud of how far we’ve come in such a short period of time and the countless lives that we’ve touched along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Fort Lauderdale beach is known for its warm water, coarse sand, and beautiful sunsets. It is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the scenery. You can’t beat the view!

There’s always new things to explore at The Museum of Discovery and Science. This museum has everything. Whether you enjoy digging for fossils, hanging with bats and sharks, or taking a trip to Mars- the possibilities are endless here. You’re sure to have a great time filled with family fun experiences.

Zoo Miami is home to more than 3,000 animals and over 100 special exhibits showcasing lots of species and various scientific topics. It sits on about 750 acres. There’s even Safari Cycle bikes that can be rented to peddle around on. This is the type of zoo you can spend an entire day exploring and still need a bonus day to finish up. It’s amazing.

Flamingo Gardens is a hidden gem. It has the best array of botanicals and peacocks that roam freely strutting their stuff. Birds, alligators, otters, iguanas, and even a black bear, python, and panther live here too. The tram tour of the garden is an extra educational touch to get you off of your feet for a few minutes. Highly recommended for a beautiful selection of plants and Florida animals.

Sawgrass Mills is a huge outlet mall with main and luxury brands. Shopping, eating, or watching a movie-this is the place to be. There’s something for everyone.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my daughter Rhondell. She is a nurse entrepreneur and my business partner. We have taken this journey together and it has allowed us both to grow personally and professionally. Her hard work and determination are deserving of recognition. I am grateful for her constant unwavering faith, support, and business guidance.
