Meet Manny Keith | Artist/Singer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Manny Keith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Manny, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Being in the entertainment industry, it’s all about risk. Every time I do an audition. Every time I perform in front of an audience. Every time I release a new song into the world. For me, I’ve learned to embrace the uncomfortable moments that come with my career have chosen to lean into them. For instance, had I not continued to take risks by auditioning for NBC’s The Voice, not only once but four times — I wouldn’t have made it onto the show. It’s easy to give up when circumstances are hard and whatever is in front of you seems impossible, but I assure you it’s usually worth the risk and you’ll be happy you put yourself out there, regardless of the outcome.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love to entertain and connect with people through singing and music. I’ve been singing since I was 14 years old and not only enjoy the escape it provides for me, but also the joy it brings to others. However, it wasn’t until 2017 when I was 27 years old that I decided to make being an artist a real thing. You see, I lost my mom to cancer that year and she was my biggest fan. Since losing her, a fire was lit inside of me to go after everything in my heart I dreamed of doing because I know this is what she would have wanted for me.
It has not been an easy journey, but it’s been worth it. What keeps me going is thinking about all of the people I will touch and bring joy to around the world. It really isn’t about me at the end of the day, but how I can help others. I see my talents and music as a gift that I can give to people. Speaking of music, I am very excited about new songs I have on the way. I’ve been working tirelessly since my time on The Voice last year and I absolutely cannot wait to share this new music with the world. I believe people will really love and connect with the songs.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, I would definitely take them to Wynwood and show them all of the incredible artwork on the walls. Then drive through Miami Beach and do some shopping on Lincoln Road. Probably grab dinner on the beach as well, then catch a movie in Brickell or something. Miami has so much to offer, it’s hard to nail down what is the best! I really do love it here.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today had it not been for the support of my family and close friends. I’ve been very fortunate to not only have a strong support system here in Miami, but also in Texas where I grew up. Being an artist and singer, it can be a lonely journey and I can sometimes get in my head about where I’m currently at in my career versus where I see myself in the future. I’m incredibly thankful for those people in my life who have kept me grounded, encouraged me in the low moments, and have celebrated with me in the best moments.
