We had the good fortune of connecting with Mark Hubbard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mark, what inspires you?
I am inspired by talent, possibilities and opportunities given and received. The unknown of the what is possible is a constant inspiration for self motivation and helping others around me to dare to reach new heights. I am inspired by other creatives talents and gifts. I see the drive in so many creative artists eyes and their desire to accomplish their dreams. It inspires me to develop and grow my platforms more to be able to afford others a greater chance to help realize their dreams.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a professional Gospel recording artist and entrepreneur for over 20 years. I have been honored to have won a Grammy and other prestigious awards. In my capacity as a credited recording artist, I have had the pleasure of serving as President of the Chicago Chapter of the Recording Academy, “The GRAMMYS”. I believe my passion to see others succeed sets me apart from others. Further, my desire to develop talent and promote others dreams is what I am most proud of. I have a been in the church since early youth. In my youth, I learned of my calling to serve the Lord in the capacity of music and the church gave me the foundation to develop my gifts. I give honor and credit to the most high for endowing me to serve the body of Christ and spread the good word through music. I was told anything worth having is worth fighting for. As such, my journey as a professional artist has not been an easy road but has definitely been rewarding. I believe my walk with Christ and constant communication with the Lord has been my strength in overcoming challenges. Also, I am blessed to be surrounded by loving and supporting people to help me through tough times. I want the world to know there is a Saviour and friend in Jesus and through him all things are possible.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many enjoyable places and events in Chicago! In no specific order, I would take a tour of the City on a Trolley downtown, visit the Art Institute of Chicago, House of Blues Chicago, and grab some Giordano’s Pizza.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to extend a gracious Shoutout to every professional recording artist of Mark Hubbard and the Voices and staff at Next Showcase USA and our dedicated manager Reggie Ayers from Ayers Management Co.
