We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary McBride and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mary, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite quote is actually a line from Drake’s song “Too Much”. “The moment I stop having fun with it, I’ll be done with it”. This line is meaningful to me, because it”s something I live by. Life is too short to participate in anything that doesn’t serve you.
It’s been the rubric that I grade opportunities, relationships, and passions by.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My brand is “The Golden Gram”. I found a way to blend my love for music, meaningful conversation, and people together to make a community. I think the fact that it’s a community, is what sets “The Golden Gram” apart. People love to feel included, like they belong.
When you see the content and the material… you see yourself.
I’m excited for 2022 because this year, I’m creating more opportunities for the community to really connect.
I plan on taking things to the next level, live!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Often times when I bring my friends or artists that I work with to the city, I love to take them to feel good spots. We’d brunch at O.A.K. ( Original American Kitchen) or Tioga’s Maple Street Biscuit Company.
I love activities that stimulate conversation, so we’d go painting at Corks & Colors.
Most of my tribe values fine dining, so I can see us getting dressed up and having dinner at Ember’s Wood Grill or Shula’s Steakhouse.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I thank God for giving me the passion and gifts that I possess. Every time I think about quitting, God opens another door so that I could take my passion a step further.
Secondly, my tribe. My husband, my sisters, & The Elements.
Often times, people say you can’t share your vision with other people because they can’t see it.
It’s a blessing to be surrounded by people that I can share my vision with. These same people will do everything in their power to see me succeed.
