We had the good fortune of connecting with Mauricio Marcano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mauricio, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own business was a decision rooted in a blend of ambition and practicality. I realized that while it’s impossible to predict the future, the only way to truly understand it is by diving in and taking the plunge. There will never be a perfect moment to start; the best time is always now. I knew that the journey would be filled with ups and downs, but I was prepared to tackle obstacles head-on. I believed in my ability to find solutions and adapt as challenges arose. Ultimately, starting a business was about embracing uncertainty and committing to navigating it with resilience and creativity.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career began with a solid foundation in marine engineering, which I studied at the Maritime University of the Caribbean. Working as an engineer on oil tankers was instrumental in shaping who I am today. It provided me with invaluable experience, allowing me to develop a unique perspective, think quickly on my feet, and strive for the highest level of professionalism.
Over time, my interest shifted toward hydraulics. I pursued self-directed study in this field and eventually worked as a Marine Hydraulic Technician for several years. This experience deepened my expertise and further fueled my passion. Ultimately, it led me to take the step of starting my own business, where I could apply all I had learned and continue to grow professionally.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
my favorite place in the city it’s the beach. I absolutely love it there. Not only is it a perfect spot to unwind, but it also allows me to combine my passion for working out with my enjoyment of the ocean. I’ve been doing calisthenics for the past four years, and the beach provides the ideal setting for my workouts. I get to exercise while soaking up the salt water and fresh air, which is a win-win for me.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In my story, my team Irvin and Johany deserves significant credit and recognition. They were instrumental from the very beginning, listening intently when I first shared the idea of starting our own business. Their commitment, expertise, and collaborative spirit have been crucial in bringing the vision to life. Together, we leverage each of our unique skills to deliver the best results for our customers. Their support and dedication have been key to our progress and success.
