We had the good fortune of connecting with Maxine Belus and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maxine, how does your business help the community?
In my 6 years working in the corporate setting, I had 9 bosses and only 1 was a woman. I started my business to be able to empower and support as many women as possible in building a business that aligns with their passions and purpose. I want women to know their dreams are possible and I will do whatever I can to help them reach their goals. Maybe I just run Facebook and Instagram ads, but I like to believe that the work I do helps these women-owned businesses to grow in ways they never imagined. And in doing my part to help women succeed in business and entrepreneurship, I am helping to create more role models for young girls to look up to so they can see what’s possible for them too.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
After holding various finance and marketing roles at large corporations, I decided to use my skills to start my own Facebook advertising business. When I discovered the world of paid social media advertising something just clicked. I think that’s because running successful ad campaigns requires equal parts art and science. I am highly analytical as well as creative, so being able to use both sides of my brain makes this job truly enjoyable for me. But my business would be nothing without the amazing clients I have gotten to work with. Helping these women succeed is what keeps me going. I have a strong passion for empowering and supporting women business owners, and feel incredibly fortunate to be able to work with such amazing women everyday. I think having that passion for what you do is so important because without it your work becomes just a ‘job.’ Running your own business is not always easy, but it’s because I care so much about my clients and their businesses that I am able to persevere through those challenges.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely hang out at the beach. I’d take them to Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park on Key Biscayne and check out the lighthouse. I’d also show them South Pointe Park. Then we would probably walk around Wynwood, check out some of the breweries there and stop at the Miami Mojito Company.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband definitely deserves a shoutout. He has been so supportive of me and my dreams – no matter how crazy they are – and always believes in me 110%. I would not be where I am today without him. Thank you, Jeff.
