We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Gutman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
The most important thing I’ve done as a parent is to lead by example when it comes to resilience, hard work, and compassion. Starting my surrogacy agency and raising my twins as a single mother has been a balancing act, but I want my children to see that it’s possible to follow your dreams and make a meaningful difference in the world, even when faced with challenges. I hope they grow up understanding the value of creating opportunities for others, as surrogacy has been such a gift in my life and the lives of so many families. Through my actions, I aim to teach them to be strong, empathetic, and driven to contribute positively to the world.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My ‘art’ is creating opportunities for families to grow through surrogacy, and what sets my agency apart is the personal connection I have to the process. As a mother of twins born through surrogacy, I deeply understand the emotional and logistical journey of both intended parents and surrogates. This isn’t just a business to me—it’s a passion rooted in my own life.

Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. Starting a business while raising twins as a single mother has been a lesson in perseverance, time management, and the importance of a strong support network. I overcame challenges by staying focused on my mission: to create a supportive, ethical, and compassionate environment for surrogates and intended parents alike.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are countless, but the most important ones are to trust the process, embrace collaboration, and never lose sight of the ‘why’ behind the work. I want the world to know that my brand is about more than just matching surrogates and intended parents—it’s about creating families, celebrating resilience, and honoring the courage it takes to embark on this journey.

I’m proud to be a part of something that changes lives, and I’m excited to continue building a community where surrogates and families feel valued, supported, and empowered.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Miami, I’d plan a week full of relaxation, great food, and vibrant nightlife to capture the spirit of South Beach. We’d start our days on the beach, soaking up the sun on the powdery sand and dipping into the warm, clear water—there’s nothing more cleansing and relaxing. For lunch, we’d head to the restaurant at the SLS Hotel, where the food is incredible, and the atmosphere is perfect for a leisurely meal.

In the afternoons, we’d explore the area, maybe strolling through the Art Deco district or visiting some of the local shops. Evenings would be all about experiencing Miami’s energetic vibe. We’d start with sunset cocktails at the beach bar at the One Hotel, then head to dinner at one of the amazing restaurants South Beach is known for. And for a nightcap, we’d make our way to the nightclub at Fontainebleau for an unforgettable night of dancing and music.

What I love about Miami is how different it feels from Los Angeles. The people are so vibrant and full of energy, and there’s a unique sense of fun and freedom in the air. It’s the perfect destination to relax, recharge, and celebrate life!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My journey wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of my surrogate. She not only gave me the gift of motherhood but also inspired me to start my surrogacy agency. I also want to give a shoutout to my family and close friends who have stood by me every step of the way, offering encouragement and lending a hand as I navigated life as a single mother and entrepreneur. Lastly, I’d like to acknowledge the surrogacy community at large—intended parents, surrogates, and agencies—whose stories and experiences have been a constant source of motivation. Their shared commitment to creating families has fueled my passion for this work.
