We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Boneta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Melissa, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
CannapyConsult is focused on aiding our diverse communities of South Florida find medical marijuana options. If cannabis turns out to not be the solution a client is looking for, we can put them in touch with other methods of finding wellness and relief.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am most proud to regard that I am still learning and ever-evolving in the cannabis industry. I had been derailed from completing my educational website due to some personal reasons, but that hasn’t stopped me from continuing to educate and empower my local communities one day at a time. I find that our mental and emotional intelligence goes hand-in-hand with our professional execution. Finding inner balance with cannabis and other wellness factors, I am able to consistently show up for myself as well as others. This is the power I have found in the last year. That even though I have come to various stops and bumps in the roads, nothing stops a person’s true purpose, even if it feels so small. It’s more than cannabis for me, it’s about unifying people through a healthy wellness regimen, that focuses on our physical being just as much as the mental.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had to pick places to take my best friend on a mini vacay? I would go outside! We would go to Hollywood beach and have a drink or two. I’d take them to eat at Tom Jenkins BBQ, one of my all time favorites. I would make sure we go on a walking venture, maybe an outdoor mall in Miami to take in the hustle and bustle of the city. Driving through and seeing the sights when the traffic is low is my idea of a good time. I would also take them to Wolf Lake Park, a scenic and spacious place to explore the beauty of nature! I’m the type to be down for anything, but I would always have to rely on what my friend wants to do first and see if it aligns with something I’d have fun doing, which is never too hard to distinguish!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My glory first goes to God, but I would be nowhere without the communities and people that I educate. Helping people of color find various wellness options that can bring an improved quality of life is something I truly enjoy seeing. Especially in this field, that is ever-evolving and fighting stigma everyday. But we must continue to represent this plant as the medicine it can be, and highlight the risks as they present themselves.
