We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Meredith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Content Creative was launched out of a need that I continued to notice in the marketing and creative industry. Typically speaking, companies would either hire a consultant, hire a creative agency, or hire a marketing agency. The consultant was brought on for strategic or planning purposes to then hand off that strategy to the agency, creative or marketing. But then, the challenge was that the consultant basically wasn’t involved in the implementation process. Additionally, marketing agencies were highly focused on data and strategy while creative agencies were focused solely on creative. The two were rarely discussed together and most companies lacked the budget to hire both. They also lacked the bandwidth or resources to handle the job, project, or ongoing work internally so things were never done or executed in the way that the consultant had put together from the beginning so dollars were being wasted. At Content Creative, we fulfill a few different needs. The first being, we understand how to strategize, plan, design, and execute to that no part goes undone or unnoticed. We see how the strategy and creative need to work together for everything to work properly and perform. We also understand that those in internal marketing roles such as a marketing coordinator, marketing director, or similar typically lack the information to know what they should be asking from an agency up front, and then once they’ve already began the process lack the bandwidth, time, and resources internally to execute a project completely.
What should our readers know about your business?
More about us– At Content Creative we know that you and your team want to streamline your marketing efforts so you save time and increase the company’s revenue. In order to do that, you need a marketing partner who knows how to not only strategize a plan, but execute it so nothing gets lost in translation and your team gets the results they need. The problem is, you and your team don’t know where to start or if you’re hiring the right people for the job, which leaves everyone feeling overwhelmed and defeated. What sets us apart– We believe there’s a much easier process. As an agency of individuals who have been on a marketing team in the past, we understand the struggles that come with the role. This is why we act as your team’s full-service marketing extension. From conceptualizing a strategy to fully executing it, we ensure your marketing will work to accomplish your team’s desired goal. Most proud/excited– We are still a new company in growth mode so the future is full of so many possibilities We have so many clients out there that we can help and so many partnerships we will get to be a part of that we don’t even know exist yet. We are a company built on service and helping and I’m so excited at the impact we will make in the lives of others as we continue to grow. Easy/challenges/lessons- I don’t think anyone in business for themself would ever say it’s been easy. Are there times that are easier than others? Sure. Is it worth it? Sure. But every single day presents challenges of its own and you have to learn what to expect, how to adapt, and how to roll with the punches. Some days are simply easy and full of fun and excitement. Other days are more mundane or downright challenging and those are the days that make you question things. But at the end of the day it’s all worth it. I want the world to know… At the heart and core of our company, we are servants. We desire to make an impact by improving the lives of others through their business. We truly believe that our clients are partners and we would rather have a handful of great clients that we can help grow and succeed with than a bunch of clients we don’t believe in or that don’t believe in us.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Tampa, Florida currently so the weather is nice here year-round. I always think when friends come to visit we need to do something outside. If we don’t head to the beach for some sun, fun, food, and drinks then my favorite day in Tampa is always somewhere along the riverwalk. Maybe starting at Armature Works for brunch, stopping at 4 Green Fields, Stones Throw, Ulele, and Sail for drinks along the way. Catch some live music at Sail Pavillion. Maybe jump on the water taxi or rent water bikes, and then head down to Sparkman Wharf to finish the night with a drink, and Uber home with some Bake ‘N Babes delivery.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents of course. I couldn’t be who I am or where I am without them. But also my fiance. He’s always been supportive of my thoughts, ideas, and visions and has always been a sounding board, and gives me amazing advice, feedback, and direction when I need it. Even when I think I don’t 🙂
