We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Hawthorn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Very early on I learned to develop the habit of creating opportunities for my kids to be a part of The Fiesta Box. It started because of them, but I’m succeeding because I stopped pretending I had to separate my job as a mom from my business. Naturally these two roles in my life intertwine so I’ve developed the habit of often taking a step back and appreciating the moments I can incorporate my kids.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Fiesta Box puts more time into your party planning hands. Whether it’s the busy parent with the dinosaur loving 3-year-old, or the c-suite executive who promised to host a girl’s brunch, The Fiesta Box curated unique quality paper goods and packages them into on-trend themes.

You won’t find plastic cutlery or single-use straws in your Fiesta Box. Time is spent sourcing party goods that are not only different than your average trip to the convenience store, but also either compostable, recyclable, or reusable.

I got to where I am today by embracing the challenges I’ve been faced. The pandemic was in full affect when I started The Fiesta Box, but my kids were also home. All day. Everyday. I learned to embrace the chaos, keep them involved, and charging ahead.

I want the world to know that each day is an opportunity to create a memory. Through The Fiesta Box, I’m just here to help you create those memories and make it as easy as possible. First day of school, Halloween, or Valentine’s Day – I’m here for it all.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Such a hard question! We’d start with brunch at either Strawberry Moon or Nikki Beach followed by some shopping in the Design District. Spa and a late lunch at the Ritz on Brickell Key and dinner at Sexy Fish. We’d take a day trip to the keys and make our way back up to Bal Harbor before another spa and beach day at the Fountainbleau.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My friends and family. My hardcore ride or dies who pushed me and continue to encourage me day in and day out. The Fiesta Box would have never come to life without them.
