We had the good fortune of connecting with Jess Gaither and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jess, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking a risk has always been a scary concept for me. There are times that I look back at risks that I wanted to take, that I should have taken but when it came down to it I didn’t have the courage to jump.

In the past few years and as I’ve moved through a few career phases, I’ve realized this fear of taking that leap was holding me back from pursuing a career I was truly passionate about.

I’ve realized that the fear of the unknown and the fear of taking a risk isn’t worth missing out on something great. Leaning into that risk has opened up so many opportunities that I never would have experienced otherwise. Yes, there’s a chance for failure but what can happen if you don’t fail?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a background in Interior Design and have always been passionate about design. I started a virtual assistance business a few years ago and quickly realized my focus was drawn to busy interior designers who were overwhelmed with managing their own business and still striving to provide their clients with a high level of service.

Along the way I’ve embraced my love of organization and systems and found a way to offer these services to designers in need. I’ve found creative minds don’t always work systematically, I work as the bridge between the creative mind and the organization needed for a creative business to be successful and thrive.

It’s my dream to build a brand that provides the support for designers to focus on their ultimate client design experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We live in Florida for the endless sunshine and I try to take advantage of this as much as possible! We’re huge paddle board fans and love spending the day on the water exploring new spots. I love being able to take friends and family out and letting them experience all of the wildliife Florida has to offer. It’s such a thrill to spot dolphins, turtles and an occasional shark while out on the water!

Of course, after a hot day on the water it’s necessary to stop for a frosty drink at a spot on the water.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
For some reason my husband didn’t seem even a little concerned when I told him I wanted to quit my perfectly good job and start my own business. He’s been so supportive as I’ve been on this journey and probably believed in me even more than I believed in myself.

I’ve also been lucky to have the most amazing clients who’ve let me into their businesses and trusted me to provide the support that didn’t know they needed!
