Hi Minerva, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My name is Minerva Salles, Founder and CEO of OMG Creative Solutions™, a digital media (EdTech) company that elevates senior managers to become more confident speakers and guides companies to deliver their brand message through digital media.

Having interviewed many influential people in the media industry, I noticed that many of my guests, both professionals and public figures, wanted to enhance their communication skills. I realized that effective communication has the power to transform not only personal interactions but also entire organizations.

This realization led me to create Be a More Confident Speaker, a unique interactive in-person or online training program to improve communication skills with client prospects, customers, investors, stakeholders, and team members.

The beauty of communication skills is that they can be developed and improved upon. Through our interactive in-person or online training course and workshops, senior managers can embark on a journey of self-discovery and learn strategies to enhance their communication skills.

By focusing on critical aspects such as reducing misunderstandings in the workplace and achieving better clarity on goals, objectives, and expectations, our training programs can prepare managers with the skills and tools they need to excel in their careers. Before I graduated from college, I had the opportunity to work as a Multimedia Specialist for the award-winning ABCNews.com website. This position allowed me to work closely with the technology and engineering team at the new online media division, where I focused on developing technical and production solutions for the editorial department.

During my tenure at ABC News, I had the opportunity to work as an independent producer and on-air contributor for ABC News Now, ABC’s digital cable channel. In this role, I demonstrated my ability to multi-task and communicate effectively, which allowed me to excel in my work.

My dedication and expertise ultimately earned me a coveted position within the ABC News Division. In this role, I was responsible for developing audiovisual packages for ABC News and ABC Entertainment programs. This position allowed me to combine my passion for storytelling with my skills in creating engaging visual content.

After working in the media industry, I decided to embark on a new journey into the world of entrepreneurship. I launched OMG Creative Solutions, a digital media company that specializes in helping businesses deliver their corporate messages effectively.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?

One of the challenges in starting my business is securing capital for growth, which requires meticulous financial planning, strategic budgeting, and seeking potential investors or loans. Securing the business funds is a crucial aspect of the planning process and for the growth and success of the business.

Another challenge is dealing with stereotypes that exist in the business world. As a youthful and attractive female, I have encountered situations where my capabilities and experience are questioned solely based on my appearance. However, I have learned to navigate these challenges by relying on my track record and establishing trust through consistent performance and results.

I believe that my unwavering dedication, immense passion, diverse skills, and sheer perseverance will contribute to my company’s growth and success.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

Throughout my journey, I have learned invaluable lessons that have shaped my personal and professional growth. These lessons have not only helped me navigate the complexities of life but also enabled me to build a brand that resonates with my target audience.

One of the lessons I have learned is the importance of adaptability and resilience. Life is full of surprise twists and turns, and being able to adapt to new situations has been an art form for me. Whether it’s dealing with adversity, adapting to new technologies, or embracing change, I have learned to embrace these challenges as opportunities for growth and innovation.

Another lesson I have learned is the importance of continuous learning. In this ever-changing world of technology and business, staying current with the latest business trends and technologies is imperative. By embracing a mindset of continuous learning, I have expanded my knowledge, enhanced my skills, and made important business decisions.

Building strong relationships has been a defining factor in both my personal and professional life. Whether it’s with clients, colleagues, or friends, I have learned the importance of effective communication, trust, and collaboration. By nurturing my relationships, I have built a network of support, gained valuable insights, and created meaningful connections.
