We had the good fortune of connecting with Mondalena Vernet and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mondalena, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
The transition into motherhood has made me reevaluate my perspective on work life balance. Naturally, becoming a mom led me to put some aspects of my business on hold. I.E accepting new clients. I knew I wanted to spend the first year of my daughter’s life with her as much as I could but, at times, I also found myself feeling guilty about putting work on hold. As someone who has always been driven and passionate about my career and business, acknowledging the need to pause and prioritize my daughter almost felt like an identity crisis. I know so many women experience this. Overcoming this “crisis” required a mental shift, realizing that this was not a compromise of my professional aspirations but a temporary adjustment of my priorities during such a big life transition.
Now, 17 months into motherhood, I’ve come to appreciate the fluidity of my work-life balance. My “new” life demands flexibility and I embrace the ebb and flow of both my mom priorities and my business owner priorities without letting guilt overshadow the joy both my daughter and design bring me.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Many designers have a signature style and clients will go to them seeking to replicate that look. At Rroshe, we love to tap into the inner designer of our clients. We create spaces that are unique and specifically tailored to our clients’ vision and needs.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Even with all of my previous design firm experience, I had no idea what it reeeeally took to run my own design firm when I first started. So, a big shoutout to all of my very first clients! Aunts, uncles, my best friends’ parents! Thank you for giving me my first solo design canvases.
