Meet Nathan Burrell

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nathan Burrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nathan, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
When I think of work-life balance, I realize there is no balance, just full-time everything. In other words, everything in my life or work doesn’t require equal attention at all times, yet at all times, I’m engaged in life and work. When I first started in business over 25 years ago, I thought I had to work all the time to build my business and brand. The only thing that mattered was launching a successful company. Not to mention, you read and hear all the stories of successful people launching start-ups from their garage and eating cold pizza, and I believed that was the rite of passage of being an entrepreneur. However, over time, you begin to realize that less is more, and other interests or responsibilities become more valuable than success. Once the wife and children came into my picture of success, the balance line was completely removed. I was still a full-time entrepreneur, but also a full-time husband and father. The key was realizing that everything I was responsible for didn’t require equal attention at all times.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am co-founder and managing director of Randolph & Main Capital Group, LLC., creators of the FraXion Marketplace. FraXion is a non-traditional real estate investment platform utilizing the latest blockchain technology that will provide individuals, not just institutions, with access to distinguished real estate development ventures, side-by-side with large development groups and some of the most recognized institutional partners in the world.
FraXion creates “Digital Asset Partners” by offering security tokens backed by income producing real estate properties, thereby creating digital assets that have the potential to be traded and easily exchanged providing flexibility and liquidity options for potential investors. What excites me most is that the blockchain technology was created to democritize transactions and the flow of information. By tokenizing real estate, we have potentially opened the doors to real estate investing and private equity access to individuals that were usually locked out of these markets. It hasn’t been an easy road. We have had to weather the storm of the “crypto currency” frenzy and get rich quick schemes. Challenging government regulations that frowned upon the crypto markets and made it really difficult for legitimate projects like FraXion to move forward. Not to mention we are competiting in an emerging market that has yet to hit its tipping point in acceptance and adoption. However, in spite of those challenges we are excited to be launching our second token called FraXion Legacy International.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am pretty much a home body. If my best friend came stay with me for a week it would be a very simple itinerary. We would spend the majority of the time at my house enjoying each other’s company while our wives and children hung with one another. We definitely take a trip to see the latest movie as I am a big movie person. The trip would also include several visits to an awesome gym in Margate called Lift District Fitness. Finally, one day out of the week we would have to take a trip to Morton’s restaurant for that Cajun rib eye steak before they hopped on the plane to go back home.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife of 20 years has been a tremendous inspiration and supporter of everything I do. Over the years, she has challenged me to go after my dreams regarding business opportunities. In addition, she is one of the best assets that I have that isn’t on payroll. She holds an MBA from the University of Miami, and is constantly checking my business acumen with tough questions to make sure I’m operating at my highest level. I will forever appreciate her support, and I am so glad she is in my corner. In addition to my wife, my 4 children plays a vital role in shaping my success. They are inspirational to me in more ways than they can imagine. Not only do I want to model success for them, and be that example. I also want them to be proud of the fact that their father is a hard worker, but never sacrificed our relationship to achieve those goals. Finally, I am blessed with a great family and community that keeps me accountable.
