We had the good fortune of connecting with Nivea & Becky Barbosa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nivea & Becky, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
There are so many important factors to our business. Obviously, we begin with hoping that each and every single one of our clients walks out LOVING their nails and having a wonderful experience. The following one which is something that we believes makes us different than the average salon is that we are educating our clients. We don’t just believe that our clients walk out of here with gorgeous manicures but also the knowledge of what products are best for their natural nail growth while staying in their budgets.

We have become successful because we are honest with our clients. We explain what products we put on clients hands as well as why. Many salons just out whatever they have when here at NBN Studios we strive to find the product that works best with your lifestyle and what lasts the longest. This is a type of service that we provide and are proud of.

Another factor is that we have great prices that give anyone with any budget the ability to have a beautiful manicure while staying in their price range.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
NBN Studios started with my daughter and I working from home and growing within the home. We hired more techs after Becky and I got fully booked. After that we moved into a small salon in West Kendall and grew to having 3 employees to having a full schedule and hired 5 more Nail Specialist. We have been through the toughest of times and some smooth times that have helped structure the foundation of the salon we have today. We are in a much more centralized location that caters to a larger community and allows for the business to grow with new clients. We are grateful for the turbulent times that have made us become a successful business that not only can provide great quality to out clients but allows us to protect and stand by our employees.

We are proud of everything we have been able to accomplish. We have learned so much along the way. Running a business is like parenting. You can read all the books, get all the advice from those around but until you live it you don’t get it. You build this business to become what you want it to be. I didn’t want this to be the average salon where the nail specialist are fighting for clients or money; when one succeeds we all do. My clients are everyones clients and as a team we support and help each other.

We want everyone to know that we are here to make you have a wonderful experience while you are at NBN Studios. We believe that everyone can have and achieve gorgeous , healthy nails in an environment that is clean, follows CDC and state regulations not just for COVID but also for any spread of bacteria, fungus and germs. We love what we do and hope to include you as part of the NBN Studios Family.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love our community and hope that when visiting the area we can direct anyone to what their likes are since there is so much to do in Miami. We have our nail specialist who range from all age groups that can give you the best advice on what to do in Miami according to your wants/needs.

Becky says hit up the Hollywood Beach area for a gorgeous days of water and safe clean beach fun.

Iris loves to eat and suggests she of the best food spots close to us: Chef Adrienne for a fancy romantic night and some laughs at the Doral Improv.

Steph enjoys the art and food over in the wynwood area with a fun concert at the AAA

Nury says that ice cream and Netflix is the nest as long as you get some Sweet Melody Ice cream at home.

Laura loves her northern area in Pembroke Pines for a great breakfast spot called First Watch.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

In a business where usually it’s all about one self growth; this group of women have made this salon into the truest form of a family business you can ever see. Team work makes the dream work in this work environment.
