We had the good fortune of connecting with Octavio Stokoff and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Octavio, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Make your goals clear, be responsible for your own life, learn from your failures, and don´t try to look the guilt in other people, be consistent, and never give up. One crucial thing is executing actions more than having a million ideas. Once you have a good idea, you have to write an action plan and follow it till the end. Learn a lot, be open and get around better people than you, to challenge yourself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Colombian singer/ songwriter and producer. I am the first Latin artist to promote a new music Genre, “Country Music en Español.” I am genuinely country and I am very proud of my Country Music en Español sound. It allows me to connect with the big Latino Country Music audience that lives in the US and worldwide. To succeed, you have to be consistent as an artist to the genre and to your history. You can’t be fake; Country Music is all about friendship, hard work, love, and family. These are also some of the values of the hard-working Latino community in the US. and worldwide.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh, so many places, but let’s see, there is a lot to do in Miami. Still, I will begin with a cruise on the water, after that a good fish in ¨La Mar ¨or a nice dinner in ” Cantina la Veinte.” Also, a lovely beach day in Bal Harbour Beach. If you like more the artist vibe, you could go to Windwood and take a look at the “Windwood Walls ” or just chill out in this district.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Tons of people, of course, first my family, my mother she always believed in me. In the last years, I enjoyed working with a very talented producer in Miami, Dan Warner. Unfortunately, he passed away recently . He gave me the confidence to go further with my music, push myself to the limit of my creativity. The only boundaries are your imagination. Of course, you have to work hard.
