We had the good fortune of connecting with Pamela Wasabi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pamela, what’s the most important think you’ve done for your children?
There is no perfect school or perfected method to educate our kids. The best way to teach them and show them is to lead by example. Be and live by the values you want your kids to embrace.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My bakery is a celebration of my life. It’s the tangible expression of my love for life, and my respect for nature. My books are the compilation of my thoughts and my studies. They represent the philosophy by which I live my life which I translate into my mission of service. My radio show is a space and a responsibility to deliver the message of my work and my convictions to the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love romantic settings, little gems, tiny places. But I also love the majesty of the ocean. A must-see would be Fiorito for pumpkin soup, wine at Bar Meli, Base Camp to hang out, Love Life for vegan dinner, and dessert. I love getting lost at the poetry panels at The Miami Book Fair. I also like watching indie films at O Cinema. Lagniappe for some dammed good live blues and jazz during the weeknights. The upper East Side is my favorite neighborhood to take walks at night. Morningside walks are a must anytime, and swimming in the bay is my daily ritual. I will also take my friends to the beach either very early or at sunset.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The community. An open door, an invitation to working together, a 15-min meeting to hear what I have to say, a chance to collaborate. Community-driven relationships and support make all the difference.
